19: Rogue attack

Alpha Dominic

As soon as I reached the border, my men made way for me. They are all fighting rogues, left and right.

Fur and growl were what could be seen and heard for miles.

I hated rogues, their scent filled my nostrils and I growled.

They had a bad stench. It disgusted me.

' What's happening!' I shouted through the mind link.

' Sir, rogues are attacking us,' the head warrior. My eyes roamed around the clearing. I grabbed a rogue by the neck and snap it.

' How many are they?'

'500!' I've never had so many rogues attack at once. Strange.

' Secure the western and eastern borders. Don't let anyone in,' I ordered.

' We have cleared the Eastern, the gamma and warrior Cho are headed west,'

A few minutes later, we depleted the rogues. They didn't stand a chance against us.

I couldn't help but think. Why the sudden attack?

Could they have been planned by someone?

Natalie Pov.

I'm lying on the bed, thinking about the attack. Is it fatal? Is Dominic alright?

I groan frustrated. I hate not doing anything in situations like this.

Why would anyone attack Dominic Russel's pack? Everyone knows it is unbeatable. Rogues coming here is suicide.

Maybe it's Trenton who sent them. Is he starting his attack sooner than planned? I sighed and close my eyes. However, sleep does not come to me

I attentively listen for any sounds downstairs.

Minutes later, I hear the door slam. I got into a sitting position and carefully walked downstairs.

As soon as I reach, I relaxed as Dominic's scents engulfed me.

He has a drink in one hand while he seems to be in deep thoughts.

" Hey," I said gently. I reluctantly walked closer to him. He didn't say a word, just watching me.

" Alpha, are you alright?" I asked, concern in my tone, and I almost gag. Focus Nat. We don't like him. I'm just role-playing here. I'm a lone wolf with no money or family, I remind myself again.

The alpha got to his feet and towered over me, Dominic was a man unlike any. Everything about him was mighty, his sharp and steady jaw. His tousled hair and muscular body. I was watching him in awe

He brushed his fingers against my lips gently and I stuttered, a simple act like this made me shiver and I was at his mercy.

His face was close to mine. Dominic was tall so to not hurt his neck, I stood on my toes.

I was still nowhere close to his height.

He let out a small chuckle and my heart accelerated. He brushed his lips against mine slightly. His breath on me.

" I'm fine. Don't worry about me," his voice was hard. He backed away and walked past me.

' f**k,' my wolf murmured. She was enjoying this proximity. I went back to my bed, feeling moisture between my legs.

I closed my eyes and let my mind wander to him.

The next day, I was determined to start work. I needed a phone.

It has been weeks and I haven't talked to my sister yet. I'm sure she's worried about me.

I clutch my chest tightly as a bitter smile made its way on my lips. I miss Sirina.

After my shower, I put on black ripped jeans and a t-shirt we got from the store. I marched downstairs.

I was surprised when I found Adeline at the dining table, drinking coffee as she read her newspaper.

She looked elegant and beautiful in her office outfit.

" Morning," she cheerfully greeted without looking up.

I bowed and responded.

" Good morning,"

I pulled out a chair as the chef brought me breakfast.

" Do I have to serve her too?" The bitter-looking woman grumbled and a growl resounded from the alpha's sister.

" Um... I can .." Adeline cut me. She glared at the chef I remember as Melody. She always looked bitter like one who has been sexually deprived for years.

" Ashley is my brother's guest. Is this how you treat your alpha's guest? Do you want to be punished?!"

Adeline glowered at her. She looked pissed and the chef shrunk and shook her head profusely. I didn't feel sorry for her.

" It's alright, I can make my breakfast," I said quietly but Adeline was not having it.

" You are my brother's guests, anything you want she will make sure it's done for you," she spoke, her eyes bored chef Melody.

I looked away with a small smile, Adeline was truly kind.

I ate my breakfast in silence.

" Mummy!" My eyes snapped to a girl who was running to us. She was pretty with beautiful blue eyes and two pigtails that were bouncing as she ran.

Adeline carries her unto her lap and kisses her cheek.

" Hi, Bambi,"

The girl giggled as her mum continued placing kisses on her chubby cheeks.

Adeline turned to me.

" Ashley this is my daughter, Zaza," I waved at the girl and she beamed, waving back.

" Bambina, this is Ashley and uncle Dom's friend,"

Zaza smiled cutely and Adeline looked at her expectedly.

" Um.. ni..nice to meet you," she stuttered shyly and hid in her mother's crook.

" You did great. Why are you shy?" Adeline encouraged.

" Her name is Zahara, but we call her Zaza," The girl turned to me. I smiled and she visibly relaxed.

" It's very nice to meet you,"

She smiled and carefully got down and ran outside.

Zahara is four years old and is very intelligent. She has a little bit of a stuttering problem but she goes to speech therapy and is improving greatly

" So what's your agenda today?" she asked.

" I wanted to see Alpha Dominic. I want to start work soon," I answered.

" Good. I was just heading there. Come along!" She gestured for me to follow. I stood and followed.

I sighed and took in the beauty of this pack. The town's infrastructure is top-notch. I see men and women going about their day.

They look so happy and everything is organized and busy. " It's beautiful," I murmured to myself.

" Yes, it is," Adeline said with a smile but I saw her expression darken for a brief second. I wonder what she was thinking about

" Anything the matter," I asked.

" Dad almost destroyed this pack with his madness," she sighed. I've heard about their father. Dominic killed him during a fight and took over.

" How so?" I tried not to sound too interested.

" Well... " She started but the shrill of her phone interrupted her. After finishing her call. She smiled and announced.

" We are here!" She points at the tall building.

" His office is on the top floor," I nodded and opened the door.

Adeline got Zaza from the back seat.

We walked inside and the staff we met bowed to the alpha's sister and gives cute compliments to her daughter as for me, they faked a smile. I roll my eyes.

We went to the top floor. I gulped as I prepared myself to see him.

" Come in," we heard a gruff voice before we could knock.
