I wish it wasn’t a matter of months between the time we write to each other and the arrival of the letters. Nonetheless, it delights my soul to hear from you. You certainly sound as if you are doing well and that a career in the United States Navy agrees with you. How exciting it must be to sail on a brand new ship like the Brooklyn! And how proud you must be to be a commissioned officer! When are you next slated for a promotion?
