Chapter 24 It was 10:15 am on June 12, 1953 and at 10:24 the direct train to Roma Termini would leave from Naples Central Station. The train was still being formed on track four and, preceded by a long whistle, a local train arrived on track three, which was separated from platform four by a covered platform. It was composed of two old fascist diesels, which provided the service up and down the region along the waterfront, stopping at every station.
