Wally parked the BMW behind the flats and walked with Violet to cross Eastern Parade road, looped around to the promenade. The crowds were swarming, the fields already full. The roads had been closed and Wally steered himself and the professor to the gauntlet of security guards and on into the circus tent. The sides of the tent were open all around, no tiered seating, it was standing room only, the crowds extending out onto and across the fields, where eyes were glued to the large screens that had been erected.
