“It’s so lovely here!” I exclaim, admiring the orchard. The trees, short in comparison to other trees I’ve seen, are narrow at the bottoms with branches that expand out in a canopy over the stumps. The branches are lush with green leaves and clumps of colorful red or yellow apples. In between each line of apple trees is a row of plush green grass. The sky is a bright shade of blue with wisps of white clouds streaking through. “It is. Have you ever been apple-picking?” Aiden asks as he slips his hand through mine. “No, I don’t think I have, not that I can remember at least.” He chuckles. “You don’t remember a lot about your childhood.
