Hold on Xena!

~Aurora's P.O.V.~

This pregnancy is draining the life out of me, I mumble as I make my way to the mirror. My reflection takes me by surprise as always. Not only is this pregnancy affecting me emotionally and draining my health it has changed my entire appearance. The power of the Gemini twins emanates out of me as my appearance takes on what I can guess is a representation of their 2 personalities.

My once honey brown hair now has me looking like a story book villain, one side as white as snow and the other as dark as the night, but still oddly beautiful. My eyes are a direct conflict of my hair, the eye on the side of my black hair is an icy bluish white and the other one is a lavender purple. I have lost a lot of weight and my skin has paled considerably, my body being affected by the war that is raging inside it, no doubt.

Zeke was just as shocked as I was with the change of my appearance and considering no one we know has ever had this happen to them we have no idea if it will stay the same once I give birth. Zeke will love me no matter what but I am sure he would prefer a look that doesn't draw attention to me like a wild fire.

I am staring at myself in the mirror when midnight stirs restlessly in my head, a sharp pain jolts me from my thinking. I feel cold and numb, not able to move my body at all except my eyes. Panic starts to take over me but the sensation disappears as fast as it came on. I stumble towards the bed and sit down trying to pull myself together. Was that the twins? Their magic has been getting stronger with each day and they like to show me their new trucks.

Midnight starts to whimper in my mind, "what's wrong? is it the twins?" I say as I mindlessly rub my belly. Midnight does not say anything but instead opens our mind link and replays what she experienced in the last few minutes. I see visions of Xena in the woods, then she bends down to pick something up and the sensation I felt comes back full force. Anthony rushes over to her and carries her out of the woods. the edges of the vision start to close in with darkness. I hear a whimper that is not midnights, it's Athena. My eyes start to water as the darkness completely takes over and Athena's energy is completely gone. My hand covers my mouth as I let a gasp out and more tears run down my face.

Our bedroom door flies open and a very flustered Zeke bounds in. The lines in his face are deep with worry. He felt my distress and must have assumed I or the twins were in trouble. I jump up and run to him unable to get any words out. he grabs and squeezes me as tight as he can manage, mind linking me, searching my mind for what just happened. Midnight shares with him what she showed me.

He pushes me away to look at me and says " Talk to Anthony and see what he needs, we will send whatever we can! She is our family" his face showing even more stress, we are having a hard time in our pack, we have been attacked several times. giving any aid to them will weaken us even more.

I call Anthony, he confirms what I already knew the magic is ancient, powerful and dark. not many people know of it or what to do with it. I turn to Zeke and he shakes his at me but before he can say a work I put up my hand to silence him. lightning strikes outside and my eyes start to glow. He lets out a sigh because he knows this is a fight he won't win and even though he won't admit the power that oozes out from me scares the s**t out of him. "I know I can't stop you but I do not think traveling in your condition is the best idea, especially since I can not go with you! what if you end up giving birth I won't be there for the twins' birth?" his voice is low and shaky, he doesn't want to upset me anymore but also refuses not to give up without any fight at all.

Lightning burst from the sky once more, the twins obviously upset that daddy doesn't realize the power they yield and just how protective they are of their momma. I tilt my head to the side, one eyebrow raised and smirk on my face, " do you really think anyone could get close to me?" I ask watching his shoulders droop knowing he is not going to win. He lifts his head like a stubborn child, narrowing his eyes at me "you will not have my babies without me being there!" his voice still low but steady as he barks out his command. I couldn't help but laugh knowing how ridiculous of a command that is. I have no control over when or where they decide to come. I let out a little chuckle as I walk over to him saying " I wouldn't dream of it!" I kiss him on the lips, he tries to stay stiff, he is upset that I want to leave and he can not go.

"It will not take long, I just need to see the magic and me and the twins should be able to reverse it." my heart thuds at the lie I just told. although with the power of the twins combined with my own powers, I am surely a force to be wreckoned with but will it be enough? Ancient magic can be tricky and hard to reverse but I would never live with myself if I didn't at least try.

Zeke brings my to the plane, he sends a couple of guards with me as well. Against my wishes but I was happy he was no longer fighting me. He gives the pilot strict instructions to bring me home as soon as the magic is lifted, then he hugs me so tight I was afraid the twins were going to pop out. " I won't be gone that long" I say with a laugh, breaking out of his death grip. I give him a tender kiss on the lips and whisper " I love you" in his ear. "I don't like this at all, you need to call me every chance you get! I will send an army to get you if I don't hear from you !" I roll my eyes and chuckle again blowing him a kiss as I step into the plane.

I didn't want to worry him but I also had a bad feeling about this, but nothing will stop me from helping my friend, my family! Xena was my family! hold on Xena I am on my way! I take a deep breath rubbing my belly, trying to calm my nerves as the plane sets off into God knows what trouble awaits us.
