I assumed we were going home when we finished eating, but instead of walking left to the car, he turned right and led me down a dimly lit side street. "What is this place?" I inquired, perplexed.
As we continued going, he replied, "Just wait and see." We rounded a bend at the end of the small street, and the area opened up into a type of square. Couples leisurely danced beneath a small marquee that covered a makeshift dance floor with miniature fairy lights adorning the ceiling. Nearby, a live orchestra performed classical music.
My eyes widened in surprise at the intimate environment. "Did you have any idea this was here?"
He just nodded. "Yeah, I found it on the tourist website for 'what to do in your area," he replied, laughing at my surprised expression.
