/Jane/ I turned my gaze downward, and continued to stand there in complete silence. Kurt didn't even bother to cast a sideways glance in my direction, or at least I didn't think he did, but I dared not raise my eyes to him for fear that he would notice that I was looking at him. Even the drive to school was devoid of conversation. He came around to my side of the car to open the door for me, but instead of taking my hand as he normally does, he just opened the door for me.
