ARLEIGH'S POV
The moment I gained consciousness, I immediately got up. My eyes were quick to adjust to the darkness and I saw Morgiana being tied to a chair. The ropes on her hands were wet and that's when I realized I was tied too.
I tried moving but I hissed in pain when the rope around my wrist tightened and it seemed to burn my flesh.
I looked around, trying to make sense of where we are. I listened to the noise outside but all I could hear were muffled noises. Even as I try to listen carefully, I couldn't hear a thing. It was like we were inside a bubble.
Suddenly, the door burst open and sunlight poured in, hitting my toes. A hissing sound came followed by a sharp pain.
