CASEY'S POV FIVE YEARS LATER. "Mummy, what are we going to have for breakfast?" Ava asked me as I helped her get ready for school. She was really a handful, and I loved it so much. "Mummy, you aren't responding to me," she said, shaking my hand and snapping me out of my thoughts. A smile played on my face as I stared at my daughter, who was holding onto my hands. "Come on, Ava, you shouldn't be thinking about breakfast right now; you need to get ready for school," I said and continued dressing her up. "You are dressing me up already, so what's left to do?" she asked me, making me sigh softly, realizing she was actually right. "I still have to prepare your brothers for school too, so be patient, okay? We will all have breakfast together," I told her while she faked a frown. "Okay," she bit her lower lip, making my smile deepen. I finished dressing her. "Go ahead and have a seat; I need to attend to your brothers," I said while she nodded and quickly started running off. Adrian was the next to come to me. I didn't hesitate to take him to the bathroom, where I bathed him and dressed him too. After a while, we were all seated at the dining room to have breakfast. "Mum, I have a question for you," Andy spoke up, making me sigh softly as I faced him. "Andy, can't that question of yours wait until you get back from school? Because you are running late already," I told him, while he shook his head negatively, saying it couldn't wait. "Okay, go ahead and ask me," I told him while he smiled at me. "Mummy, when are we going to meet Daddy?" Andy asked me, making me widen my eyes in disbelief. "Yes, Mummy, we want to meet him," Ava added, while Adrian also spoke up about it. "You can't be asking me that right now; you are already late for school, so just eat up so you can get going," I said, ignoring their questions, as I didn't know how I was going to answer their question. "Mummy, why are you trying to skip our question? Please give us an answer; we need it," Adrian insisted, making me take a deep breath. I looked up at him again and shook my head negatively, realizing I wouldn't be able to make them forget about it. I knew a day would come that they would ask me about their father, but I never knew it was be so soon. “You all need to observe proper table manners, besides I don't remember teaching you this,” I pointed out, trying to stop them from asking further questions. “We are sorry mum, but we couldn't help it but be curious about our father. We must have a father, right?” Ava asked me, while the other stared at me for a respond. “Yes you have one, but I won't be talking about him right now, but I promise to answer all your questions once you return from school. For now, just eat up," I spoke to them calmly, hoping within me that tthey would just listen a quit the question. "Okay, Mummy, we are going to do just that," they said in unison. They finally faced their food, and I took a deep breath. I felt at peace now that they were calm as I also ate my food. After taking them to school in the morning, I got myself engaged with my job, and once it was time to pick them up, I didn't hesitate to go over there. I strolled into their school as I headed to their classroom, hoping to see my kids running towards me as usual, but there was no sign of them. I was really surprised but decided to continue my walk. Once I entered the classroom, I gasped, realizing it was totally empty, but I saw their teacher sobbing in a corner. I moved closer to her without any hesitation. "Where are my kids?" I asked her as she tried to speak but was choked with tears. Somehow I started feeling uneasy, and couldn't help but wonder why she was that way. "I really don't know why you are sobbing, but just tell me where my kids are. I need to take them home," I told her. I needed her to really speak this time because I wasn't finding his crumpled tears funny anymore. I was slowly getting bothered by it. She slowly turned her face to meet mine, wiping the tears from her cheek. I just stared at her impatiently. “Speak up already,” I barked, totally losing my cool. "They were kidn*pped," she spoke up, making me gasp. "What… are you talking about?" I stuttered over my words. Moving closer to her. I didn't want to believe what she had just said about my kids. "A few minutes ago, some men were here, and since they were the ones outside the classroom, they took them away," she explained, as panic washed through me. “Why the hell are my kids outside all alone while you are in here?” I inquired of her, but she remained calm. “They were waiting for you, just like always,” she explained. She was right; that has always been our routine. "No, this can't be happening," I shook my head negatively, not wanting to believe it, as I moved closer to her. "Where the hell are my children?" I grabbed hold of her as she broke into another round of tears and couldn't respond to me anymore. Hot tears clouded my eyes, and without any hesitation, I released them but kept asking her to provide my kids. I sobbed uncontrollably as I sat on the floor, thinking of how I was going to be able to save my kids. I need to do something, I can't let my kids whom a love so much be with those stranger, but how was I going to save them? These questions rang in my head, as more tears flow down my cheeks.
