“Raena, I’m perfectly fine. You are all fussing over nothing,” Arina sighed while Raena helped her to one of the cushioned chairs in the Empress’ private reception room. The Empress was supposed to be resting, or as Arina liked to call it, ‘confined to bed by people who have nothing better to do but worry.’
She did look much better, Raena had to admit—the color had returned to her face, and her eyes were clear and bright. Still, she was due very soon, so everyone was very careful with her, nobody let her make even a few steps without a lady or her servant holding her hand.
