Another day and another journey. We allowed plenty of time to get to Pochentong as early morning traffic in Phnom Penh can be busier than normal. As we traversed Russian Boulevard countless seemingly suicidal moto riders swerved and dodged through traffic, often laden with goods or family that should have made such manoeuvres impossible. Yet, against the odds, we didn’t see a single accident between Chamreun’s house and the airport. Every journey to the airport here brought back memories of my first visit, an impossible to forget cocktail of noise, sight, and smell, and not all of it pleasant. But we safely arrived at the airport and checked in for the short Bangkok Airways flight to Bangkok then went to grab a coffee while we waited for the flight to be called. Pochentong and Suvarnabhu
