CHAPTER 7As he got closer to the station, Cuddy peered through the filtered sun and shadows blanketing the street and sidewalk below the rails and could see that the man and dog he had encountered earlier were no longer there. He picked up his pace when he heard the rattling and vibration of track above signaling that the train was approaching. Cuddy mounted the stairs two at a time to the elevated platform at Somerset Station, tapped his transit card, and rushed through the turnstile onto the platform… just as the westbound train was pulling away.
