CHAPTER 9The following morning, a chirping sound nudged Cuddy awake at 5:42 a.m. He grabbed his cell phone from the nightstand and scanned the Google alert. He had been waiting for the article to be posted. The reporter, Sam Shiffler, had left a voice message on his phone the evening before requesting a statement. Cuddy had not returned the call.
