57. Failure

I sullenly stared out my bedroom window, while my mind went over everything that had happened. How could I let him go? How could I fail the one thing I promised? Ky and I ran as quickly as possible, hands tightly holding onto each other. I wasn’t going to lose him, or so I thought. It was complete havoc when we ran through the compound they held me in. The scent of pinecones was my way to freedom, and nothing could stop me. The sounds of guards running behind us only fueled me further.
