Even though I was expecting to feel tired after only two hours of sleep, I didn’t think I would feel this broken and exhausted. Every breath Garret took, I somehow heard. Every heartbeat of his was deafening. I shouldn’t have put him in the bedroom next to mine. Nyx stirring in my mind, trying to take over. Whining to be beside him. Even his scent made its way into my bedroom. I still had thirty minutes to stay in bed. But I couldn’t relax, I needed to get out of here.
