I searched everywhere for Amanda, but she was nowhere to be found. I asked everyone I could, and they all said the same thing—they had no idea where she had gone. As I was heading toward the stairs, Bel suddenly stepped in front of me.
"Adam, where have you been?" she asked, her eyes drooping a bit. I took her hand and guided her back to the couch.
"Bel, you need to stay here. You're drunk, so just wait for me until I get back. Don't move from this spot, okay?" I said slowly, and she nodded vigorously in response.
