Calling Zalden was a dumb mistake. One that I regretted almost immediately. Thankfully, I'd snapped out of it before spilling everything. Not that he cared to ask.
He doesn't even know about my kids. He thinks the worst of me. How can I go to him for help?
“This is not the time to worry about dignity. Jamie needs you.” My subconscious scolded me.
My head was spinning so badly, I thought I'd collapsed. But the one thing that kept on replaying in my head was, ‘how do I save my baby?’
I have no one to turn to. No money saved up. Nothing.
“Mommy, I'm thirsty,” Jamie's soft voice snapped me back to reality.
“Wait here baby, I'll be right back.”
I left the room to get her some water, when Rowan called after me.
“Belle!”
I turned back to see him jogging to meet up with me.
