Jace's p.o.v
"Come on man i need that wrench!" Scott yelled. "Dude wait a minute, your dumbass brother messed with all the tools again and i can't find s**t!" Jace said to Scott as they worked under the hood of Scotts old 67 Chevy Camaro.
It was a hot day and people were starting to pull in to the yard as a barbeque was being placed out back of Scotts and his fiance's house. As they worked with their buddies that were soon no help to them as they continued to drink, it was now up to Jace and Scott to wrap everything up in order to help grill.
"You jackasses are worthless!" Scott told Kevin and Troy as they stood there with beers in their hands eyeing the women who were showing up to the barbecue as they walked past the them.
"You guys just go me and Scott has this, there is no point in yall hovering while we do all the work" Jace said. "Thats good with me" Troy said as he started walking to the back yard with a girl that made the wrong decision by winking at the him. Soon Kevin met up with a few other guys they knew and went inside for more beer.
As Jace and Scott were busy finishing up they were turned around by the sound of a motorcycle arriving. "Whos that?" Jace asked Scott as they looked up from under the hood. The closer the bike got they moved in closer to see if they recognized their new guest. As Scott was wiping the grease off his hands he said "oh s**t!" "What?" Jace asked. "It can't be?" He said as Jace c****d his brow up trying to figure everything out. "It is!" Scott yelled, as Jace still couldn't figure out what all the commotion was about. "Sophia!" Scott soon started moving faster towards the bike. "Sophia?" Jace asked himself trying to put a face to the name.
As the bike came to a halt, she got off taking her helmet off. As she done that Jace gasped in amazement as she was very stunning. "Damn" Jace said low. Her almond hair fell over her face as she lifted a amazing smile towards Scott. Those plumped lips lifted and he noticed her dimples. Her body was fit like the girl kept up with herself, which made a empreshen on Jace.
"Scott!" Sophia said as she wrapped her arms around his neck as Scott lifted her and began to swing her in a circle. "Oh have i missed that ugly face of yours!" she said as he finally put her down and she nudged his shoulder. "I would had never thought id see you again short stuff." Scott said. "What has it been, like four years now?" he asked her. She nodded and said "yeah i couldn't just miss my big sister's wedding now can I?" She said. "Now where is Izzy anyways?" Scott turned to point at the house. "She's in the back probably swimming or talking to the girls." He said. "Go on back we are barbecuing". Scott told her. "She is going to freak out when she sees who just popped up." He said as Sophia nodded and started walking beside the house into the back yard.
As she started to walk back to the small party she glanced at Jace and gave a small smirk. I cannot believe that is the Sophia i've heard so much about. He thought. His gut fluttered a little at the smile she gave him. If he didn't have a girlfriend he would be all over her and making her his. Wait he thought, where is she at anyways. Jace began to look around and figured she was out back with everyone else.
As Scott started walking back to the car and Jace he smiled and shook his head in disbelief. "I can not believe she is here" Scott said as he went to shut the hood of the Camaro. "I haven't seen that kid in going on four years now, she has balls to even come back to Texas" he said. Even though she was now 25 age had blessed her in many more ways than one. "Is that Izzy's little sister?" Jace asked as they started to the back of the house. "Yeah i don't think you ever met Sophia, she has been away for awhile and did not think she would ever show her face around here again" Scott said. "Why is that?" Jace asked him. "Oh it's nothing" as he looked a bit unsettled now. What's with the change of expression Jace wondered.
The party was in full effect as the guys walked towards the back of the house. Jace put his sunglasses on and gave nods to some guys next to the underground pool. He soon started scanning the backyard to find Sophia. He gulped when his eyes found hers staring at him from a group of girls by the fence. Although she turned away real quick Sophia didn't know he saw her, as for the glasses Jace had on his face hiding his hazel eyes. Jace was tall and very fit. He was a bad boy at heart, always the adrenaline junkie. He fought most weekends at a fight club which is why he kept up with his body the way he did. He would win almost every fight and come home with thousands because of it. If he wasn't with Scott racing in odd places around Texas he was elsewhere looking for his next high for excitement. With short brown hair and tattoos all over, the ladys really took a fond to him.
His girlfriend for a year now always hated other girls just for looking at him. He couldn't help it though, he did well for himself and enjoyed the attention he gotten for it. That was all about to change for him and he had no clue. As he was always faithful to his girlfriend Chelsea, he had second thoughts about if she was worth his time. She never really cared about what he did just as long as she could call him hers and bleed him dry from any winnings he would get. This was going to be hard on Jace because as far as he knows only Scott Izzy and him were the only ones staying in the four bedroom country house. Little did he know Sophia was staying till the wedding. How is he going to resist such a intoxicating woman?
