*Jonah's point of view*
When I came out of the meeting I went straight to Aurora, but only found my mother. She explained that she left Aurora alone for a while to take care of some guests and that from afar she saw Aurora walk towards the break room. I gave my mother a stern look and began to walk over to the room, but the closer I got the more I thought about the situation.
Maybe she was having a nice conversation and making friends. If I went in there and interrupted anything important Aurora would be disappointed. I wanted to see her and keep her close to me, but this might be a good chance for her to meet more members of the pack. After all, she was going to be Luna of the Arcada pack one day. Before I could turn into the hall that led to my mother's room I stopped and decided to just come back later to get her, but then I heard her voice.
It was Aurora's voice and she was having a conversation with another person. Maybe she made a new friend. I turned right to see who this person was, but I was shocked to witness the scene. There she was. Her scent hit me as soon as I turned the corner and she was smiling. My mate was smiling and there was an i***t standing in front of her, staring at her with lust in his eyes. He must have a death wish.
All the previous thoughts left my head and my wolf took over. I walked over to where they were standing until I was close enough to grab Aurora and pulled her away from him, brining her close to my chest.
“What business do you have with my wife!” I yelled.
He stared at me with a confused look and remained silent.
“Are you a mute? I asked you a question.”
Nothing came out of his mouth and I lost my temper. I pushed Aurora to the side and began to walk towards him, reaching for his neck. Before I could apply pressure with my fingers, Aurora began to cry.
“Wait! Jonah, what are you doing? We were only talking. Please don’t cause a scene. Not here.”
When I heard her pleas I became even more irritated, but she was right. I couldn't do that. Not here anyway. The commotion made the ladies come out of the break room and they were starring at us with wide eyes. Even so, I wanted to make sure this imbecile understood my warning.
“Stay the hell away from my mate.”
Before he could say anything, I grabbed Aurora by the arm and had her follow behind me. I walked straight through the guests, not stopping to speak to anyone. Aurora was having a difficult time moving with her current outfit and I could feel her lagging behind. When we were outside of the ballroom, I carried Aurora bridal style up the stairs until we reached my room. I locked the doors behind me because if anyone walked in through that door I was seriously going to kill them.
*Third person’s point of view*
Aurora remained silent. She watched as Jonah walked around his bedroom with frown on his face. She could tell he was very angry and when he broke the statues on his bedside, she jumped from the loud noise of the shattering glass. She didn't want to see him like this so she decided to take the initiative.
“Tell me what I did wrong. Why are you acting like this?” She asked in a low voice.
Jonah did not want to respond to her question. He didn't know what he was more angry about. Was it the fact that she was talking to another man or was it the part where she was smiling at him that really had him in this terrible mood.
“Who the hell was that man Aurora?” Jonah asked, ignoring her question.
“Richard. H-He is just a childhood friend. I had not seen him or heard from him in years and he recognized me tonight. I thought it would be very rude to ignore him.”
“I don't want you talking to him. Do you understand?”
Aurora was becoming annoyed. She had been patient with him and never brought up his dirty past, yet he was standing in front of her and prohibiting her from talking to one of her childhood friends.
“I'm not going to do that. I don't know why you dislike Richard, but you have no right to tell me who I can and can not communicate with!” She answered back.
Jonah walked over to Aurora and when she walked away from him until her back hit the wall. She was trying to keep her distance and this made Jonah become even more annoyed.
“I don't care if he is your best friend. You’re my wife and my mate. There is no need for you to go around talking to other men! Especially if they are anything like Richard!”
Jonah knew about Richard's past and in his eyes, he was just a coward who took advantage of the disappearance of the Alpha's son to gain power. He wanted Aurora to see agree with his terms, but she was not going to back down. She had dealt with too many things in just one night.
“You are a hypocrite! I'm getting pointed at as the undeserving wife of the future Alpha who had many beautiful women in his arms before I came in to ruin his life. You say I'm your mate, but all you have done since I came to Arcada is avoid me! You never even ma-marked me, s-so you have no right over me!”
She was shocked when she heard the words that came out of her mouth, but she could no longer hold back her tears. She couldn't speak anymore and her chest began to ache. Jonah was in a confused state. He didn't know she felt this way. All the pressure she endured since arriving to Arcada must have been excruciating. He hated himself for not noticing it sooner. Jonah opened his mouth to say something, but Aurora beat him to it.
“And you know what the worst part is? I can't stop thinking about you!” She said in between sobs.
When he heard these words escape from her mouth, Jonah couldn't think about anything or anyone else. He only saw her. He realized that he wanted no one else, but her. She was his and he was hers. Nothing in this world would ever be able to keep them apart. He got closer to Aurora and towered over her. With both hands he held her face in the most gentle manner. Her tear filled eyes looked straight into his and he surrendered.
“Aurora Nahrwold, you will be the death of me.”
