Marked

*Third Person’s Point Of View*      The adorable story of the three children and their game made everyone chuckle. Aurora didn't remember the exact details, but she did recall having a lot of fun with Richard and Andrew when they were children. The happy thoughts took her mind off of all the problems and they made her feel a bit embarrassed because only now did she realize how annoying she must have been as a child.      *Shatter*      The loud noise made everyone turn to Jonah. His strong grip had completely destroyed the glass of wine which left glass shards deeply embedded in his skin.      “Pardon me everyone, the glass must have been too thin.”      He got up from his seat, walked over to where Aurora was sitting and pulled her up by the arm.       “I'm afraid we will both be retiring early. Please, continue without us.”      Aurora, who was more concerned about the shards in his skin, was oblivious to his rage. She stared at his bloody hand with worry and wanted to help him as soon as possible.  It wasn’t until they reached his bedroom that she saw his ocean eyes turn completely black with rage. Jonah was unable to control his heavy breathing and he clenched his jaw very tightly to prevent a loud grow from escaping his mouth.      “Jonah… what’s wrong? Please relax. Let me remove the shards from your hand.”      When she tried reaching for his left hand, Jonah pulled away and began to question her.      “Why did that i***t call you Ann!? Did you lie about your name!? Tell me RIGHT NOW!”     “Lie about my name? Of course not! Ann is a nickname my mother gave me - Ahh.”     Before Aurora could grasp the situation, Jonah had thrown her onto the bed and towered over her.      “Why that specific name?!”      “It's just - It’s the initials of my full name, Aurora Noel Nahrwold. They spell out Ann, but why are you so concerned about a name?      “You never bothered to mention this, but that imbecile Richard knows!!”     “Jonah please calm down so we can - wait what are you-!”     Jonah clutched the collar surrounding her neck and ripped it down all the way to the bodice of her dress. The small beads on the ivory dress hit the ground and Aurora’s upper body became exposed.      “Is it because he was your first love?”      “What are you talking about?! Richard is not-”     “Don’t say his name, don’t even think about him!”     Aurora stared into Jonah’s eyes and she only saw possessiveness. Suddenly, he pinned both of her hands down on the bed and leaned into her delicate neck, brushing her skin with his lips. He nuzzled her neck until he reached her marking spot and kissed it gently causing Aurora to tremble from desperation.     “U-Uh! Jonah, P-Please! Your lips, they’re on ... - Aughhh!!”      The tingles from his soft touch that had overtaken Aurora’s body disappeared instantly when his canine teeth punctured deep into her sensitive skin. Aurora’s screams got stuck in her throat from the severe pain, making it difficult to breathe. Thick tears fell from her eyes and she tried moving, but Jonah’s body was too heavy. He finished marking her by retracting his teeth and then whispered into her ear with a dominant tone.     “YOU BELONG TO ME.”      Jonah released his hold on her, and got up from the bed. The red mark on Aurora’s neck was throbbing and her sobs were the only thing that echoed in the quiet room. She was exhausted from the pain and after a few seconds her eyes became very heavy, forcing her to lose consciousness.  *Jonah’s point of view*      When I heard him call my mate Ann, I lost what remained of my temper. I wasn't able to control myself because I was angry and confused all at the same time. Could Aurora be the Ann from my dreams or was it just a coincidence? More importantly, how dare he call my mate’s name in such a flirtatious tone? If I had not broken that glass I would have broken his neck.      In a matter of seconds, I let my wolf take over and I did the unthinkable. I MARKED HER!? I did it without a warning because I wanted her to know that she was mine, but when I saw her in agony I regained control over my body and a deep pain welled up inside my chest.      I knew that my way of doing something so important was very sudden and violent, but I did not regret marking her. She was MY MATE! No one would ever change that. We were bonded together for the rest of our lives and it was time for everyone else to become aware of that.      After I marked her, I left Aurora on the bed and went into the bathroom to remove the glass shards from my skin and to wash the blood off my hand. I must have used too much force when I marked her because when I walked back into the bedroom Aurora had fainted. I grabbed a washcloth, soaked it in water and used it to clean the parts of her body that were covered in tears and sweat. Since I ripped her dress, I took it off and left her in the thin chemise she wore under. She remained unconscious, so I covered her motionless body with a blanket and left her alone to rest.      I stepped out to the balcony to cool my head. There were still many questions that needed to be answered. Did Richard know about the name because he heard her mother call her that when they were children or did Aurora tell him herself? If he really was her first love, then she probably told him. How did Aurora feel about Richard now? How did she feel about … me?      I stopped myself from making the situation more complicated than it already was. For now, I had to keep that i***t as far away from Aurora as possible and focus on the ceremony tomorrow evening. If I really wanted to get to the bottom of all this, I needed to put up a facade and act as if nothing happened.      I took one last deep breath before going back inside. I changed my clothes and checked on Aurora who was still asleep, before I climbed into bed with her. I got close enough to caress the scar above her right eyebrow. My beautiful mate looked so delicate and fragile, but I knew she was strong.      She was the only one strong enough to put me at ease. I had surrendered my soul to the one laying next to me without realizing it and I couldn't imagine my life without her. The thought of her leaving me to be with someone else made my blood boil. I would never allow that to happen and now that I marked her, no wolves would dare approach her with ulterior motives. I kissed her forehead and closed in the small space between us by wrapping my arms around her and hugged her with no intention of letting go.
