*Third person's point of view*
As Aurora approached her future husband, another wave of pine scent hit her when he turned to look at her. She felt as if she was going to feint because of the amazing scent, but she did not want to accept that the pleasant smell was coming from the werewolf that stood in front of her.
The elder commenced the ceremony in the garden under the light of a full moon. He gave the order for Jonah to lift the veil that was covering his bride's face. When Jonah reached for the veil his hands became shaky and when Aurora felt him get closer she held her breath.
When the veil was no longer covering her face, Aurora and Jonah stared at each other, confused about their new-found feelings, but then they turned back to face the elder. Throughout the ceremony, both of them felt as if their insides were on fire and they were suffocating with each others scent. Their minds were going through a state of confusion and denial all at the same time, but their hearts were racing at an incredible rate.
Before the ceremony was completed, the new couple joined both hands around the glass of pure wine and drank to seal the alliance between the Arcada and the Archer packs. When their fingertips met, Aurora felt uneasy because of his touch. His skin was hot and she felt tingles all over her body. Her breathing began to speed up, but she subsided it. Her face felt hot and her cheeks turned bright red, but she didn't worry too much about it because those watching would think it was just the rouge.
When the ceremony was over, the newly wed couple walked towards the ballroom with the guests behind them, where a lavish celebration awaited them. They did not exchange one single word and continued to look straight ahead as they walked across the gardens and into the ballroom.
*Jonah's point of view*
What the hell was that?!?! Something must be wrong with me. I smelled a delicate floral scent as soon as she began to approach me, but when she was right next to me, I could smell the gentle roses, gardenias, jasmines, all in her scent. It was a delicate aroma that made me visit a beautiful garden of exotic flowers. I thought I would hate the smell of such things, but coming from her, this scent was amazing and unique.
When she touched me, the real battle within me began. Why did her touch drive me insane? Her hands were so soft and they made my skin feel very hot and tingly. I wanted to run away from that wedding out of desperation. Why did I feel this way about this woman?
"She's our mate you idiot." I froze when I heard my wolf's voice.
That arrogant creature hardly spoke to me, so why was he doing it now?
"What the hell do you want? I thought we had agreed that I was not going to find a mate until I figured out who Ann was."
"You really are stupid."
And with that, he left me alone with my thoughts. I needed to talk to her. Who the hell did she think she was to just walk into my life and make me feel this way. Aurora Nahrwold would not get the satisfaction of driving me insane by occupying my thoughts.
*Aurora's point of view*
I was speaking to some of the pack members and the other guests when I suddenly felt a strong hold on my arm. My heart began to race as soon as our skin came into contact and I knew it was Jonah even before I turned to look at him.
He excused us from the guests and pulled me to follow him out of the ballroom and up to his bedroom. I was very scared. We had not shared one word and suddenly he was very aggressive and seemed extremely angry. He closed the door hard behind him and locked it before he turned to face me.
We just stared at each other for quite some time. The room was quiet and the only thing that could be heard was our unsteady breathing. I opened my mouth to speak, but he beat me to it.
"What have you done to me?!" He yelled.
At the same time, he ripped off his vest and threw it on the floor.
"What do you mean?" I replied, taking a step back.
"Don't play dumb with me, Aurora." He said in a more controlled tone.
That was the first time he said my name. For some reason, I liked how it sounded coming out of his mouth. Wait, what the hell was I thinking? Something was definitely wrong with me.
Before I could regain my senses, he got closer and towered over me. I tried to step back but my back was against the wall. He grabbed my shoulders, trapping me and whispered in my ear.
"I know you feel it too." He whispered with a menacing stare.
I turned bright red and the feeling of his breath in my ear did not help calm the heat that my body was feeling. He faced me again and only then did I realize how beautiful Jonah Raeburn was.
He had dark black hair and fair skin. His body was muscular and he was tall enough to look down on me. The thing that stood out the most were his eyes. They were an abyss of blue that resembled the darkest parts of the ocean. He looked as if he had been sculpted by the gods.
"Please let me go." I pleaded.
My eyes began to tear up at the thought of him hurting me. I knew he was my mate because my wolf did not stop yelling "mate!" inside of my head. I always believed that my mate would be the only one in this world who would rather die than hurt me.
I was wrong.
