Joan dropped back onto her seat with a sulk. “Fine,” she muttered, but barely a second passed before she shot up, calling out, “Food!”
I laughed, shaking my head. “I think there are plenty of Stone Mountain women to help with that.”
Before anyone could react, Kat leapt at Lacy with a loud war cry, tackling her to the ground. “I’ve got her. Someone get a rope.”
Bee giggled, while Lacy, indignant but laughing, yelled, “Ow!”
Kat didn’t let go. “Seriously, I wasn’t kidding about the rope,” she said with a grin.
Lacy pushed and shoved, trying to escape, but Kat was determined. “You’re not tying me down, now get off me, you elephant.”
“Who are you calling an elephant?” Kat screeched, but Lacy was clearly unrepentant.
“You, now off!” Lacy grunted, managing to
