Between Laughter and Apologies
I could hear the excitement in Beth’s voice as she bounced on the balls of her feet, an infectious excitement that made everything feel lighter. "I know, I mean, it's all everyone has talked about for years and years," she said seriously, nodding with conviction, "Luna this and Luna that. All my rearers are really excited about you."
"Years, huh?" I repeated, trying to play it cool. She nodded eagerly, and I couldn’t help but smile. It was endearing how much she looked up to me. "Do you think they’d like it if I came for a visit sometime?"
She didn’t hesitate, her smile stretching wide. "Yes, yes! If I brought you, I’d be their favourite and get extra marshmallows in my hot chocolate!" she squealed, almost jumping with excitement.
