It's Monday As Monday morning dawned, Alicia's roommates, Lily and Emma, prepared to leave for their classes. They exchanged cheerful goodbyes with Sarah and Alicia, rushing off to class. Sarah and Alicia, enrolled in the same course so they shared the ritual of getting ready for class together. Alicia, radiant and confident, made Sarah momentarily remember her own insecurities. However, as she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror, the old self-doubts crept in. She couldn't help but feel like she was built like a twig, surrounded by others who seemed so effortlessly attractive. In the midst of these thoughts, Alicia noticed Sarah's hesitance. "You look good, Sarah," Alicia reassured her, offering a supportive smile. Sarah, though still grappling with her body image, found a glimmer of confidence in her friend's words. They packed their books, locked the room, and set off to class together. The campus buzzed with activity, and Sarah felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as they approached the classroom. Entering the unfamiliar space filled with new faces, Sarah couldn't shake the overwhelming feeling. The room seemed vast, and the unknown challenges of the academic journey loomed ahead. The echoes of self-doubt persisted, but Sarah took a deep breath, reminding herself that everything will be fine. Sarah stepped into the bustling classroom with unfamiliar faces filling the room. Alicia resumed much earlier than Sarah, acted as Sarah's guiding light, introducing her circle of friends. Amidst the buzz of introductions and newfound friendships, the joyous atmosphere was abruptly silenced as the first lecture of the day commenced. The professor's voice filled the room, transforming the vibrant chatter into a focused hush. The day went by quickly and everything turned out really nice better than Sarah had expected. Some weeks had gone by and at this point Sarah had fully settled in. College is f*****g awesome. As she enters the room she talks to Alicia but Alicia seemed worried almost sad looking. Sarah noticing Alicia's face asked her what the problem was. Alicia then tells Sarah that the last roommate will be coming back soon. Sarah replied with 's**t, i totally forgot.' Sarah hadn't gone back to resolve the dormitory problem and it had been weeks since the last roommate returned. She then said 'i'll go talk to the hall officer tomorrow. It's past four now, i don't they are still around' The next as usual Sarah and Alicia go to class. Since Sarah has made friends she sat with some of her new friends cause someone kept a sit for Alicia somewhere else. After the class Sarah decided to get some snacks and ends up a little late to her math class. She decides to ask a girl who was sitting in the Front for her note to try and catch up. On this particular day, Sarah found herself engrossed in conversations with her friendly neighbors. Laughter filled the air, and time slipped away unnoticed. As the evening descended, she finally excused herself and headed back to Alicia's room. Upon entering, she noticed an unusual look on Alicia's face, a mix of concern and sadness. Sarah, ever attentive, inquired, "What's going on, Alicia?" Alicia hesitated for a moment before revealing the source of her worry. "The last roommate, she's returning soon. Lisa and Emma just got the news." "s**t, I totally forgot. I'll go to the hall officer tomorrow. They won't be around now," Sarah exclaimed, realizing that she had overlooked the impending return of the missing roommate. Alicia nodded, relief in her eyes. "We need to sort this out quickly. I don't want either you or the last roommate to feel uncomfortable. Now let's get dinner". The next day, after attending a class with Alicia, Sarah joined her other friends for a quick snack, unintentionally making them a little late for their next class. In the midst of the rush, Sarah spotted a girl who had taken notes during the lecture. Brimming with courage, Sarah approached her, "Hi, can I borrow your notes?" The girl, with a warm smile, handed over her notes, assuring Sarah she could keep them. Sarah, realizing she had left her phone behind, sheepishly returned to ask, "I can't take pictures now because I'm not with my phone. What room are you in so I can return them later?" The girl shared her room details, and Sarah left in a hurry, muttering to herself, "I'm so stupid." As Sarah returned to the girl, who was engaged in conversation with her friends, she apologized, "Sorry, I forgot to tell you my name. I'm Sarah. What's your name?" The girl laughed, and in a friendly tone, replied, "I didn't even think of that. I'm Emily. Nice to meet you, Sarah." Determined to resolve her dormitory issue, Sarah navigated through the maze of campus buildings to reach the hall officer's office after her class. The indifferent attitude of the staff made the encounter all the more frustrating. It seemed they had little concern for her situation, suggesting nonchalantly that since she had been staying with her friend for nearly a month, continuing there might be the simplest solution. Feeling dismissed, Sarah bit her lip to hold back an expletive remark, "What a b...," stopping herself from finishing the word aloud, muttering a half-censored remark under her breath. Returning to Alicia's room, she recounted the unhelpful encounter, sharing her irritation with her friend. It was a disappointing setback, but Sarah chose not to let it overshadow her day. Opting to distract herself from the bureaucratic roadblock, Sarah focused on returning Emily's notes. As she entered Emily's room, she was surprised to find more than just a courteous exchange. Emily and Sarah vibed effortlessly, their conversation flowing seamlessly. This encounter marked the beginning of an unexpected friendship that would add a new layer to Sarah's college experience. "Here's your note," Sarah said, handing the papers to Emily, who looked up from her desk. "Oh, that's why you're here. I totally forgot about it," Emily replied, a playful grin on her face. "You forgot about your note?" Sarah chuckled, finding the situation amusing. "Girl, I was bored and stuck in the front seat. I couldn't do anything but take notes," Emily explained, sharing a laugh with Sarah. The casual banter quickly evolved into a genuine conversation. Sarah and Emily discovered common interests and shared experiences, effortlessly connecting in a way that felt both surprising and natural. As they chatted, Sarah felt a sense of comfort and understanding, making the encounter far more meaningful than a simple note exchange. "Bye, we'll definitely talk later," Sarah said, her eyes teary from laughter. "Bye, we'll definitely talk later," Sarah said, a trace of teary eyes from laughter. "Absolutely! Lol. Bye, Sarah. See you later," Emily replied, sharing a final wave as Sarah left her room. With a light heart and a newfound connection, Sarah walked away. What a day.
