The plan Julius had come up with was for them to find a cult that accepted refugees and become a part of it. Although the Demonic Wolf Cult wasn’t among the big cults, it had its own benefits, and according to what Zaron said, they might not be big but they are one of the most dangerous and not many dare to trouble them. “Come on.” Julius said. He pushed open the door and proceed into the building, as he and Zaron stepped inside, they noticed that there were not many people inside which was quite abnormal for a cult of such reputation. “I knew they were small on the side of numbers, but wow.” Zaron said quiet enough so that only Julius could hear him, but one of the men sitting at the table closest too theirs turned to face them immediately while letting out a little growl, much like a wild animal. “You might want to keep your thoughts to yourself.” Julius said a little jokingly, also in a quiet voice. Looking around the room, they could see that every one of the people inside had very different and unique personality and air to them. Normally, a cult would have members that possess skills and abilities geared towards one particular aspect. For example, if the cult is a fighting type, they would have members that possessed skills geared towards that aspect, if it was assassination it would also recruit members that met that criteria, but the starved wolf cult seemed to either be a mix of everything, or just recruited without a criteria. Julius and Zaron walked up to what seemed to be a receptionist section of the place and beyond the counter they could see a demon woman who looked to be in her early thirties. She had red hair, red pupils and a perfectly proportioned face that showed just how beautiful she was, and wore a set of clothes that would suggest she was a mage.
“How may I help you two?” The woman said with a sweet calm voice.
‘She’s beautiful. Maybe even more than Ashia. I wonder if Ashia would have found a man before I return. I would have loved to meet the guy at least before that though.’ Julius thought.
“Good morning.” Julius said. ‘I hope it’s normal in demon culture to greet like this.’ “We are refugees that recently entered the city, and after hearing that the cults were looking for new members, we thought to come offer our skills. We want to join the cult.” Julius said looking quite determined. Right now anybody seeing him would think he was in his early twenties because of his physical appearance.
“I’m sorry but y…” Before she could complete what she wanted to say, another voice interrupted her, one that was a little rough but at the same time calm. “Do you have what it takes, kid? Do you have the strength to back your words?” The voice said in a calm voice that had a little bit of roughness at its edges. Julius and Zaron immediately turned towards the stairs at the side to see who had spoken, and to their vision entered a middle aged man, covered in muscles and toned body parts, he stood at almost 7 feet tall but because of his size, he looked more like a titan than some tall person.
As Julius looked at the man, he needed nobody to point out to him just how physically strong the man was, as he could see just how condensed the muscle fibers on his body were. Seeing this picked Julius’ interest, he had never seen such a physic before and was starting to wonder just how good of a fighter the man would be and how much strength he possessed. Without time wasted, his curiosity got the better of him as he responded.
“Would you like to test it out yourself.” Julius said making it sound more of a statement than a question.
“This boy is quite rude.” The lady who was behind the counter said to herself. ‘After he gets some sense knocked into him a little, I’ll intervene.’ She thought to herself as she stood at the edge of a short cliff. Shortly after Julius made the bold provocation, the lady teleported them to where they were now following the man’s orders. The land looked like it had seen fights before, maybe it was used as a training area or similar, and the sides were covered all round by rocks that were high enough to make the arena look quite steep. The arena itself at the floor was large and very wide, quite so that someone standing at one end would see the other person at the other end as an ant. To paint a clearer picture, it resembled a wide valley with all sides covered.
“This is where some of our high ranking members come to train sometimes, or participate in friendly competitions.” The huge man said. After a brief moment of standing still while facing off with the opponent, the man motioned for Julius to attack with his index finger, but to his surprise, the same was done to him. The lady who stood on to one side of the rock that surrounded the place together with Zaron showed an expression as though she had become a little bit interested in the boy even more. Without wasting any more time, the man charged forward at a remarkable speed, and almost in an instant was already in front of Julius.
He hadn’t changed from his robe and trousers he was wearing underneath before the fight, and he didn’t seem like he was going to even use half of his strength in the fight, so it was no problem.
With a gush of wind travelling just behind him, his kick connected straight in the middle section of his opponent and the impact threw Julius straight into the walls that surrounded the arena. The two that were standing on top watching the fight were surprised at how the fight started, expecting that Julius would have done something to at least block and protect himself. Zaron for one had only seen how good his master was at magic and had only guesed how his physical combat capabilities might be, normally being good at magic means one would be bad at the other aspects and vise versa. Seeing how good Julius is at magic, Zaron expected the worse results. The lady on the other hand thought if someone could make such provocations boldly, they should be able to back their words well to begin with. ‘Is he actually just some kind of i***t?’ she thought to herself. Although the others drew their own conclysions on the matter, the one fighting with Julius himself had something different to say. Although it looked as if he connected cleanly, he could tell that at the last second Julius had risen his hands to protect his body. Although impressive since not just anyone could react to his speed, what was impressive was that it didn’t feel as if he had done much damage. His attack seemed to have been deflected, killing all it’s destructive power making the end result more of a push than a hit, so even though he sent Julius flying, he didn’t do any damage, and this was done in the last moment no less. ‘This guy is skilled. Very skilled.’ With just that, Julius had managed to fool two people but failed to fool the last person.
