A few weeks after the attack, Julius had brainwashed Zaron partially. Brainwashing might not be the correct word to use since he still knew everything he did before then, but he had become completely loyal to Julius. Throughout the weeks that had past, Zaron took charge of training Nora in swordsmanship. Julius encouraged Nora to switch to swordsmanship saying she had a better talent for that than magic. It went smoothly and Nora made progress in her use of the swords, and in addition also tried out some other weapons that Zaron could teach, and of course all the weapons they used were wooden weapons made by Julius. Giving the fact that it had only been two weeks, she hadn’t learned much apart from the basics, and still had to train her body to be strong enough and in shape for fighting in this manner. All the while, as Zaron and Nora kept to their training, Julius tried to cultivate since it had been some time since he did, and Emilia reconstructed her skin to be able to withstand the mana in the underworld because the one she used to cross into the underworld last time had completely given up. Using the technique that help made crossing the gate and surviving in the underworld possible, her skin would be strengthened and hardened to a certain degree where she would be able to withstand these conditions. But as a woman, having such hardened skin wasn’t pleasant and Julius wasn’t going with it, so he made some adjustments to the original technique she used and reconstructed it in a way. What he ended up doing might be a completely different technique on its own. He was able to create a technique that would enable Emilia to adapt to the underworld’s atmosphere and mana by literarily reconstructing her skin and other organs from a cellular level. After one month, Emilia had finally finished the process of reconstruction and the results were completely astonishing. Her skin became more beautiful and pure than it was, and all her scars disappeared, at this point her body had been changed from a fundamental level into a hybrid, possessing both human and demonic composition. She could use her mana easier now because her could assimilate the earth’s and demonic mana that were within her body perfectly. Because of this, her physical strength also became leagues greater than that of a human, at least some level higher than the assassins that attacked the group of adventurers in the forest of the River of Ends. “You are now a completely different being; it seemed the technique I created ended up becoming greater than I originally thought it to be.” Julius said as he walked into the room Emilia was, which was secluded from the other rooms. ‘You are the only one who took the value of this technique lightly’ “It’s certainly incredible. People will die to get their hands on it. You are too great dear.” “Haha, really?” “I only wish to be of some importance to you at the very least.” “No need to think too much, even though I become a God, I will remember my wife.” Julius said with a smile on his face. Although Julius was only joking, that reality didn’t seem impossible to Emilia. Maybe one day, he would end up becoming one. They went on to discuss on their next plan of action which wasn’t much of a discussion since Julius had already made a decision and the others were willing to follow his decision no matter what it be. They would be heading into one of the cities close by and get acquainted with the place. They had nothing stopping them from returning to earth as if Julius wanted he would just create a gate that connected both worlds after studying the formation Emilia used when they came here. He still had to find out why the underworld wanted to interfere with earth and whether it was the whole underworld or just some of them, and some other things. After that day, they left for a city they selected some days later. Finding their way around wasn’t hard since Zaron was well versed in map reading being a soldier of what he confirmed to be a secrete organization. Julius had him draw a map of the surrounding area including the cities and important places nearby, and every other thing he could fit into the sheet of paper he was provided with. They left just before afternoon, and before the sun set they arrived at a huge gate which was the entrance of the biggest city in the region. Julius used a face skin over his, Emilia’s and Zaron’s face accompanied by strong illusion magic to disguise themselves, only Nora was left the way she was since she wasn’t known in the place. He got the face skins from three of the soldiers that attacked their cave, and their bodies were part of the resources Emilia used when performing that technique. “So this is the entrance? Zaron, take lead. We’ll be relying on you to get in.” “Yes sir.”
