Just how vast can one person’s mana pool be?! Two men who stood on the balcony of a luxurious-looking house wondered to themselves. Someone who has been fighting for two days non-stop without a single moment to shut his eyes could use teleport magic and still manage to cast such grand spell. And as if that wasn’t enough, he flew an entire ship back to the capital from seemingly the middle of nowhere. He is truly a beast, someone that cannot be touched nor controlled.
Julius is a 40-year-old man who many refer to as a saint, but those of this nation who have seen him in action refer to him as the annihilation of men, and his enemies call him the harbinger of death, as is the case when you wipe out a whole nation single-handedly. There was also a time where he killed an army of 10,000 warriors and earth class mages, all by himself. These many show case of strength and ruthlessness gained Julius a more fearful and respected reputation even more than the king himself.
Given the accomplishments Julius had, and his reputation, one would think he was at the pinnacle of magic or something close, rather he was only a peak stage Ascension class mage. If it were by magic power alone, then there are some that are above him. What frightened people about Julius was his versatility of magic and the fact that his foresight in battle was next to none. Nobody could claim to even be third when it came to utilization of the battlefield and strategy. He alone is first and second.
Although Julius no longer show any signs of overwhelming growth in the future, he would remain relevant even after his death. The ranking system in this world works in a specific way;
It progresses in this manner,
Mortal Class–three stages of beginner/early, middle, then peak/late stages
Earth class–three stages
Heaven Class–three stages
Master Class–three stages
Grandmaster Class–three stages
Ascension Class–three stages
Demi-god Class–three stages
God Class - none
Shanon Class - none
Xion Class - none
Although there are a few humans who are in the Demi-god class, the bottle cap for human beings is the grandmaster class for humans who try extra, extra, extra hard. There are only three Demi-god class humans in the history of humanity, each of them being the ruler of their respective kingdoms, but none will ever achieve Godhood. The only reason they could cheat the system is because of an accident that happened 200 years ago.
Over half of the earth was affected by a mysterious disease, which wiped out half of humanity’s population. The disease left as fast as it came, in the end blessing humanity with 4 survivors who unlocked tremendous potential to reach the Demi-god class today. One of the survivors was the woman who gave birth to Julius, but she took her own life shortly after giving birth to the child. The reason? Nobody knows.
Julius was blessed and also cursed from the day of his birth. The other survivors of that incident envied his mother as none of them were able to bere a child of their own blood. With power comes a lot of good things, but a sacrifice must be made. The mana in the body of Demi-god class mages was so concentrated that it would kill the seeds planted into a female mage at that class. A male would literarily destroy the body of any female he mated with.
No one knew how Julius was made since it seemed impossible, so even without his power, strength, and wisdom, he was still seen as an abomination in the eyes of those who knew about the handicap of the Demi-god class.
The ruler of Esnoch (pronounced as Esnok), the nation Julius grew up in, was one of these said survivors, and although he isn’t like the others that were jealous of the man, he had his own reasons for disliking him.
Although Demi-god class mages possess a frightening amount of power, they are not immortal. All they have are a few hundred years of living before inevitable death. As the immerse mana inside them was both a tool of mass destruction and a ticking time bomb. No matter how powerful a one might be, the reason a creature (humans included) would die after some hundred years is because they still possess mortal flesh. There is only so much the mortal body can take before giving up.
Unlike the other two, the ruler of Esnoch, King Bael, did not chase for a means to achieve immortality without ascension into God class like the other two. Instead, he had secretly grown babies using part of himself and his wife, and after many trials, he got a positive result... a child of his own lineage.
Because of this development, he feared his son would not be able to inherit the throne from him after he dies, because a powerhouse such as Julius existed. So there was only one option to choose if he wanted this plan to work.
That is to either kill Julius, or make him a dog of the Royal Family.
“Ashia, call in Captain Julius.” Immediately the king called out the name Ashia, a girl appeared seemingly out of now where kneeling on of knee with one and to the back and another one placed on the knee. She wore a green mask that matched with the patterns on her fitted black dress that did no work not to expose her curves and streamlined figure. With a slight nod she faded away just as mysteriously as she appeared.

“Come on people eat, eat to your heart’s content,” A mid aged man stood amidst what seemed to be an eating party of sorts, holding one big chunk of meat in one hand and wine in the other hand. He had lustrous black hair that reached his back in length, styled in a princely way that brought out his handsome face.
“Captain, share with us the events that happened at the sea again!”
“No way! You would have to ask the others. I don’t like telling stories twice.”
“Captain come on...” someone grumbled from behind the captain.
“Waddid you say punk? Looks like someone needs a baptism by fire.”
“eh, I think I’m good captain, thanks for the offer.”
“I thought so.” The captain said while squinting his eyes like he was trying to mimic an old master, which made it look funny. This made everyone laugh as they enjoyed their meal.
Just as the party proceeded in harmony, a sharp voice cut through the laughter, which dragged the attention of everyone to the masked girl standing on the big statue positioned by the corner of the hall they were in. “Julius, captain of the 8th pillar, Earth Crust. I have come to deliver a message. The king summons you to the palace, immediately.”
