My eyes fix on the shard of glass as blood begins pooling across the table. My right hand trembles as I reach for it. The sting makes me wince, but I manage to pull it free. The moment it’s out, Elder Yona flicks her wrist above it. In a swirl of light, a white bandage appears and wraps around my arm, binding itself tight. “Accidents happen when you lose control,” Elder Yona warns and then gestures to my wrap. “This will keep it in check until you get to the infirmary. Don’t dawdle now. Make sure you come back, and we’ll start again.” I stand, the chair betraying me as it screeches against the marble and bumps the desk behind me, making me keenly aware that the once-noisy room is now silent.
