Assassin's blade

Chapter 2

Tears tarted to form in my eyes seeing the old lady laying lifeless on the floor. Her body cut open with blood flowing out of it. I gulped and shook my head it's not the time to be sad there is something wrong happening.

''Assassins'' I spoke the other clan members looked at me shocked.

''We need to go let's head to the palace'' I said in everyone nodded their heads. We are put on our masks that covered our mouth end hoodie that was attached to our uniforms in case there were more assassin around so they wouldn't know who we were. We hastly ran the way to the palace but what my eyes saw only became worse. Assassins coming out of nowhere and they were attacking the village.

'' Help me!'' I turn my head and saw a young woman backing away in fear with her child because of the known figure in front of her.

'' Go to the palace I will catch up with you guys!'' my feet take me at the speed of light towards the unknown figure. I didn't have to think twice about who it could be, it was an assassin. I drew my katana in with one strike I split his body apart. The lady covered her child's eyes quickly while crying.

'' Go hide quickly!''

'' Thank you'' she said trembling while running away to a safer place. I saw all the fighters in our clan appearing fighting against the unknown assassins. I made my way back to the palace.

'' Isn't that Aaron's team!'' I spoke to myself seeing Nejo fighting. Nejo was Aaron's best friend and was in his team.

'' Nejo where is Aaron!'' i screamed. He quickly turned his head and his eyes widened when she saw me.

'' The palace. Artemis you need to go also quickly!'' Nejo said and I nodded my head before running off again. They can handle it without me, right? I mean our clan isn't that weak we are strong we can handle this small attack, right?

I soon reached the palace and without thinking stormed inside.

'' Dad!'' i screamed happily finding my dad in the main room with Aaron, Kita and sone highrer-ups. Kita was a well-trusted woman in our village. You can say like the mother of the village and she was very strong too. Scion, Edon and Dominus were also present, they were the higher-up. More like some kind of council members, but they were close to my dad. They were like his good friends and even fought by his side when my dad was a chief in the past. Especially Edon he and my dad were very close.

''Leader what's going on outside?!'' I asked desperately in my dad gave me a sad look.

''We are under attack''

'' By who?'' my dad looked away his expression only looking more sad to me now.

'' By who?'' I asked again while I stepped forward to my dad.

'' By the ones who killed your mother,'' she spoke making me gasp. Memories came back into my mind of that awful night I don't want to remember and tears were streaming down my face.

''Koga'' I said angrily my hands balling into fists.

''We can take them'' I said wanting to leave immediately to slaughter every one who was outside doing this to my village.

''Artemis wait'' Aaron said grabbing me by the arm.

''We can't take them'' Aaron said making my eyes widen.

'' What are you talking about about? We came easily take them'' I said yanking my arm free.

''No we can't. I saw them when I went scouting. The once attacking our village isn't even half of them. There are more coming, we are outnumbered'' Aaron said his voice calm and somehow gentle. I started to panic was this the end of us?

''What are we going to do?'' I asked.

'' Leader?'' I asked once everyone remained silent still not giving me an answer.

''They won't hurt us once I give in.''

''Are you kidding me!'' I screamed mad. What was with this cowardness action. The leader I know wouldn't say such things. He would fight until his last breath.

''Artemis let your dad talk'' Scion said sternly making me gulp and shut my mouth.

'' They are here for you Artemis. You need to leave now. I will give myself in and they won't heard the village anymore, they won't hurt us because once they know you're gone they would want you to return. They will do that by holding us hostage. You need to leave I won't let them have you.''

''What are you talking about why do they want me?'' I was getting confused and I began to break hearing that I had to leave.

'' I'm not leaving, I'm not leaving you guys behind to save my own ass'' I said crying. I heard loud noises coming from outside meaning the Koga clan members were close.

''Aaron will go with you. He will protect you'' my father said.

''Now go to this door you can easily go into the forest and escape'' my dad said pointing at the door in the back of the room.

'' I'm not leaving!'' Aaron came up to me and pulled me by my arm to the door.

'' Let go! I'm not leaving!'' I started struggling and fighting but I was just too weak and broken and nothing helped. Once we reached the door I finally yanked myself free out of Aaron's grip.

'' Artemis you're coming with me now'' Aaron said and i could hear that he was starting to get mad.

''You can't tell me wh-''

''I won the bet remember, in I'm giving you the task to come with me now. You can't disobey me'' Aaron said sternly while he grabbed my hand. I turned around facing my father who gave me a reassuring look.

''Go and come free your village when you're stronger. After all you're the precious daughter of Arakile'' he said while i saw tears streaming down his face. I bit my lip not wanting to cry and nodded my head.

''They are in here!'' a voice screamed and Aaron immediately grabbed me around my waist and left closing the door behind us.

''Dad!''
