Neil “Let go of me! Where are you taking me, you pig?!” I chuckle while wrapping my arm tighter around Frankie’s waist and pulling her flush against my body. She gasps and clutches my shirt in her fists. “Calm down, hellcat. We haven’t moved an inch.” Frankie furrows her brow and looks around us. “What the hell? But I saw black smoke surrounding us.” I smile and shake my head. “I didn’t see anything.” I did, but she doesn’t need to know that. I almost forgot that Frankie doesn’t know who I really am. I nearly teleported us out of here. I pulled it back within a second, but clearly not fast enough. This woman is perceptive; I’ll give her that. You can’t get anything past her. I don’t want to lie to Frankie about who I am. But I don’t know her well enough to reveal my true identity. M
