“Neil, are you sure you’re alright?”
That is the sixth time Elijah has asked the same question since we set out on this journey. I’m tired of saying the same thing.
“I’m fine, Elijah,” I mumble as I step over a fallen branch on the forest floor. It’s easier to take the path through the forest to get anywhere in Lykos. Not that we’ll be sticking to Lykos, Frankie could be anywhere in the world. But starting close to home is best.
“You say that, but you almost got consumed by the darkness. You almost let it take control of you!”
I roll my eyes and keep walking forward, ignoring Elijah. But he doesn’t know when to stop talking!
“Where are we even going? You have no idea if Frankie has even been reborn yet. Do you know if she’s a child? An adult? What?”
