"Help! Please help! Somebody help my sister"
Sobs sobs.
" Sister Lex..sobs.. please don't leave me...sobs... Mom and dad left us....sobs...... Please don't leave me"
Sobs.
A little child's voice entered my hears as I slowly gained consciousness, I pitied the child as I remembered Rita and then I forced myself to wake up.
I felt someone shaking me as the cried. The hands on me felt small making me panic.
'Rita can't be here, the bear and the gunshot. I have to stand up ' I thought as I kept forcing my self to move my weak body. The child noticed me as the sobing stopped.
"Sister Lex?" I heard the child call. And I opened my eyes to see a teary child's face. I blinked to clear my vision .
Then I tried to stand.
"No sister Lex don't stand, your head is bleeding I'll go look for help."
I realized something is wrong. I stopped the child from leaving. Looking carefully at the Child. She looked like a ten years old Rita. I blinked to be sure that I was seeing right. Then I asked her softly to be sure .
"What.. what did you just call me?". At first she looked confused then she answered
"Sister Lex, am sorry it hurts so much please let me get help".
I was shocked. She called me lex. No sister Lex. But my name is Riley. I am Riley Baileys. It's really weird . It's weirdness made it impossible to forget my name. I remember being laughed at each time I tell a person that my name Is Riley Baileys so how come I am hearing Lex and There's a ten years old Rita beside. Last time I checked, Rita was five.
I nodded at the kid to go find help and watched her run away from me. She wore a red top on a blue jeans and white stained sneakers. She looked exactly like Rita but a grown-up Rita. I tried to take in my surroundings but the more I moved, the more I felt myself loose consciousness.
'Maybe it's time for me to wake up. This dream is way too weird for me. I couldn't have travelled into the fire right?' I thought to myself.
Before blacking out, I remembered she said something about losing our parents and a weird feeling crept in my heart.
I found myself giggling at my parents as they smiled and played with me like a kid. At first I was confused then I realized that I was going through my memory lane except that this memory was different from my real memory. It felt like a dream but with more feelings to being real.
"Little Lex looks more like you. I bet she will grow up into a beautiful daddy's girl."
" Am proud of her. Instead of my black hair, she took your sister's hair and your plump lips".
Red what? I remember being a brunette. And my real aunt is a blonde where did the red come from. The scene skipped towards a kitchen scene where I happen to be covered in flour with both of my hands holding an egg each and a wide grin on my face as I stretched one egg to my mom. I looked four.
"Micheal, come carry your sister from the kitchen she's ruining my ingredients" my mom called out to whom I assume to be my older brother. A mini version of Micheal ran into the kitchen, took the eggs from me and picked me up to my bathroom to clean me up. The house was big, more like a mansion and I had my own bathroom. Then the scene skipped again to a school scene where I was getting bullied by the school's popular girl. Her father happened to be my father's business rival in this so called dream.
Then the scene skipped to a funeral scene where I was ten and I held a five year old Rita in my helds as I stood alongside my relatives and my so called red haired aunt Infront of three Graves that supposedly held my parents and brother. And tears rolled down my eyes.
The scene skipped again to a scene of being dumped in an orphanage with Rita since I had to grandparents and my only Aunt was not in the country and my dad's brother took over my father's business without any care for his nieces.
Then a scene of me escaping the orphanage with Rita skipped through. Different scenes keep skipping through as the memories flood into my head like my real memories. It then occurred to me that I was in another life in the body of my look alike , with her memories as mine, her life as mine and her family as mine and her name was Alexandra Benjamin.
After what felt like forever in the dark, I was starting to feel my body and gaining consciousness. During my time of going through the memories of this body, I made up my mind to never go after my so called uncle and to disown him for the hardship that he caused my sister and I. Also I learnt that the Rita here is Eloise, Eloise Benjamin. And that I was currently fifteen. It is weird to know that I was fifteen with the soul of a twenty one year old adult. I laughed at my situation without even realising that I laughed out loud to the world until I heard someone gasp. And i opened my eyes.
"Sister Lex?".
"Hi Eloise" I said smiling at her. She hugged me tightly making me wince.
"Thank goodness you didn't leave me. The past week felt horrible without you. I couldn't stand it. Uncle James couldn't concentrate and Cain got beaten up in his match because he couldn't stop thinking about you. Martha has been worried sick. She's in the hallway at the moment. If I didn't find a good man on my search for help, heavens knows what would have happened to you..." She kept on talking reminding me of Rita and Henriette. I couldn't help but smile as tears dropped down my eyes. I would definitely miss my family. I hope that since I got here, the real Alexandra would be with my family. I hoped with great faith because I was the only one keeping the family together. More tears flowed out of my eyes.
"Xandra! thank goodness. I don't know what to do if I loose you. Please don't do this again." The door opened revealing Martha, a brunette who looked like Henriette but with a sharp cheek bones and brown eyes. Behind her were two men one of which was handsome and looked my age. The other look mid forties but still agile and young.
"I can't leave you alone with troublesome Ri- Eloise and Cain now can I?. Hello Uncle James, hi there Cain. It's been a while". I replied smiling.
Surely it's been a while, one week was no joke. Good thing I didn't say 'it's was nice knowing ya.'
" Hello Xandra. Nice look you have there" Cain smirked as he came closer to Eloise and I. I looked at him as he drew near he looked like London, the skinny guy from across my house but Cain wasn't skinny. I frowned as he scattered the hair on my head almost making me dizzy.
"Get your hands off you brat. I heard you got roughed up real bad. I wish I could see the guy. I'ld pay him extra if he could bless you with some extra blows on the face".
Uncle James chuckled " surely almost losing your life has made you more feisty".
"Martha, hi. "
" Now you see me right?. I thought I had become the hospital statue".
" Not for once my lady. I just didn't have the courage to speak to you yet" I joked.
The people hear speak more fluently and in a clear accent than usual. It felt like I was in an English play. I just tried to follow up as much as I could. Trying not to sound different but it was hard. Bet Clara won't be able to cope in this world.
"Do you hear that Uncle James. I have become relic to her".
" Antique would be the best word" I corrected before laughing at her.
"Stop trying to spite her, Xandra" Uncle James spoke as we all laughed.
I sat on the hospital bed as uncle James filled me up on the things that had happened while I was unconscious. Martha also chipped in the things she knew. While Cain and Eloise spoke about the bet they made and some random happenings with friends.
Later on, Uncle James left to take care of business and Martha spoke about school. I realized then that I had a major problem to handle which was school.
In my past life, finishing school was the best thing that ever happened to me.
