7 Chapter 7 - Casualty
It was mid-morning when they reached the prohibited diamond mines at Lagoa dos Arcos. Jack instructed them to prepare for confrontation because the area was heavily protected by mercenaries who were well trained and dangerous. They prepared themselves for a gunfight then followed their skipper as he tried to find the best way around those mines.
Three kilometers further just when Jack thought they would clear the diamond mines without a gunfight, the mercenaries surprised him when a single sniper rifle echoed through the air. Fractions of a second later Jack dropped to the ground leaving a puff of dust as his body and heavy backpack hit the African soil.
