Chapter Three

Mrs. Quinn, Joyce's mom,changed clothes and returned to the sitting room where she found Joyce still in tears. She comforted Joyce, urging her to stop crying, reassuring her that everything would be fine. This was particularly significant as Mrs. Quinn was about to head to Richard's apartment to confront him about his behavior.

“Stay here and wait for me. I'll return shortly. I need to leave now,” Mrs. Quinn informed Joyce. Joyce's mom drove to Richard's apartment without prior notice and used the password Joyce had given her to enter. To her astonishment,she found Emma existing the apartment.

After gazing at Emma briefly,Mrs. Quinn entered the apartment to confront Richard. As soon as Emma departed, Richard emerged to check if Emma had gone,only to be shocked by the presence of Mrs. Quinn's, his prospective mother-in-law. Without delay,Mrs. Quinn, Joyce's mom delivered a firm slap to his face before speaking.

“How could you betray my daughter by sleeping with Emma, just a few weeks to your wedding. Do you realize the embarrassment and pain you've caused us all?” Joyce's mom exclaimed in anger,her patience wearing thin.

“How could you do this? You,a man who my daughter supported financially and helped get back on his feet? I'm really disappointed in you, Richard. Anyway,since the wedding is canceled, it's now over between you and my daughter. Also let your family know,so they don't spend any more money on preparations. Goodbye,” Mrs. Quinn declared as she opened the door and exited Richard's apartment.

In a state of anxiety, Richard sat down and continued to cry. He repeatedly tried calling Joyce,but she refused to answer. He felt lost and unsure of what to do,but he bagan to ponder on what Emma had told him about Joyce.

Richard pondered for an hour and decided not to apologize to Joyce anymore, especially after Mrs. Quinn,her mother,had slapped him earlier. “ My uncle married a controlling woman, and their marriage didn't last two years. I don't want that for myself,” Richard mused to himself.

“Emma is correct;a man should lead a household,not a woman, regardless of her contributions. I won't apologize to Joyce. This is a great chance to end the engagement and move forward with my life as a man,” Richard muttered to himself.

As the rainy season neared in Dubai, Bloom's weather forecast headquarters in Jumeirah urgently required an assistant capable of accurately predicting rainfall and snow. This was crucial as incorrect predictions could lead to significant problems for people.

Despite grappling with heartbreak, Joyce pulled herself together and headed to work, determined to focus and avoid errors, especially with the impending rainfall.

Thomas Williams,a tall and attractive individual living in Bur Dubai,is employed at Bloom's weather forecast company in the same area.He was assigned to Jumeirah Bloom's headquarters to aid during the rainy season due to his exceptional skills in predicting rainfall and snow,which he has demonstrated numerous times.

Mr. Thomas Williams arrived at Bloom's headquarters in Jumeirah and visited Joyce's office to report for his duty since she was the CEO and head of the forecast group.

“Good day, ma'am. My name is Mr. Thomas Williams. I’ve been sent from the Bur Dubai region to work here temporarily,” Thomas said. “Oh, I see. You are welcome,” replied Joyce. “ Can I see you transfer letter?” she asked.

“Yes, ma'am. Here it is,” Thomas replied, handing over the transfer letter. Joyce read through the letter, signed it and instructed him to take it to the database department for proper documentation. Thomas followed her instructions to ensure his acceptance and start working.

Lqyer that day,Emma arrived the office to collect her belongings after being dismissed by Joyce. Her coworkers noticed her packing and inquired about the situation. Emma briefly mentioned that she had been dismissed but didn't go into details,calling it a complex situation.

Joyce,taking some time to calm down in a quiet area, returned to her office and encountered Emma leaving with her things. Joyce expressed her disbelief,saying, “Emma how could you so this? After all I've done for you? I treated like family,and yet you chose to ruin my happiness.”

“Why shouldn't I, Joyce? You have everything going for you in life, but what about me,I've nothing! Yet,you boss people around without thinking about their emotions. Why do you constantly dictate to Richard? He's a man and should take the lead in the relationship,not you,” Emma responded confidently.

Upon hearing this, Joyce slapped Emma in anger. “You little troublemarker,is that why you slept with my partner? I never want to see you again,get off my property right now,” Joyce yelled,tears streaming down her face. Unbeknownst to them,a few colleagues had overhead their exchange.

As soon as Emma existed,the eavesdroppers quickly dispersed. Joyce,composed herself despite her tears,and returned to her office.

Later that day,in the evening,it was time for the board meeting. Representatives from various branches of Bloom's company gathered to discuss the upcoming rainy season and determine if it would rain the following day.

During the meeting, Thomas Williams,a specialist in forecasting rainfall and snowfall, predicted that there would be rain the following day. As a result,they decided to announce this prediction in the news so that people could prepare for the rain.

However, Richard visited Joyce's office to gather specific information about the forecasted rainfall for the next day,as it was a task with his job responsibilities. Upon entering the office, Richard requested the details,and Joyce promptly provided them. Joyce then inquired of him.

“ Do you have any explaination for what transpired between Emma and yourself?” Joyce asked,her gaze fixed on him, awaiting his response. “ I appreciate everything you've done for me both financially and otherwise,Joyce. However,as I man,I have my pride. I should be leading our relationship,not being lead and controlled by you,” Richard explained further.

“I feel emasculated by your dominating behavior, which I've brought up to you multiple times without any change or actions from your side. I've silently endured this,but I believe it's come to an end,” Richard concluded assertively.

Upon hearing Richard's words,tears welled up in her eyes,and she couldn't contain them, letting them fall. Richard, speaking sincerely to Joyce,explained that he never intended to betray her with Emma but was instead seduced by Emma.

However,he confessed that he felt more masculine with Emma because he was in control of everything.“Emma made me feel empowered in my masculinity. I believe I'm developing feelings for her,Joyce,” Richard disclosed as he existed her office.
