Chapter 7
AVA
Daniel's voice came from somewhere far away. "Elena?"
I opened my mouth to answer, but nothing came out. The fire blurred, the walls blurred and I felt my chair tip as my knees hit the floor.
Daniel's arms caught me before my face could hit the ground.
"Ava. Ava, look at me."
I tried. His face was above me, grey and blurring. His voice was far away and his hands were on my face and wrist, trying to pull and shake me from closing my eyes.
"Stay with me. Stay with me."
I tried to speak, but my mouth wouldn't move. My hands were cold and my stomach was on fire. Everything suddenly turned white, including the walls and fire.
Then nothing.
I woke up in a moving car.
The seat was cold against my skin as my head laid in Daniel's lap. His hand was pressed against my
