AVA My eyes snapped open before the alarm could even sound. The first thought that hit me was Sienna’s voice on the phone last night, cold and venomous: One phone call and he bleeds out in some alley while you watch the footage. I lay there staring at the ceiling of the safe house bedroom, Daniel’s arm draped protectively across my waist. My heart pounded with the same rhythm it had all night. That threat wasn’t empty.
