Juliette: Rehearsals were starting to feel less like theater and more like war at this point. Lines were sharper. Directions were more intense. The tension in the room buzzed like a live wire stretched thin, especially whenever Cole and Maddox were here in the same room with each other. Maddox watched him like a hawk, and Cole tried pushing every last button Maddox had. He made every line seem like a confession of love, stared at me with complete compassion, and grazed my arm, even when it wasn't in the script.
