Juliette: My alarm blared at 5:30 a.m., an ungodly hour I was certain no human should have to face. Groaning, I fumbled to silence the shrill beeping, rolling onto my back to stare blearily at the dark ceiling of my dorm room. I’d gotten maybe four hours of sleep—my mind had whirled all night, flipping between thoughts of Cole’s near-kiss and Maddox’s unexpected offer to train me. Now, though, there was no escaping it. I’d promised to meet Maddox at the gym by six, and if I didn’t drag myself out of bed soon, I’d be late. Letting out a defeated sigh, I swung my legs off the bed and forced myself upright.
