Cole: My phone buzzed, face-down on the edge of my desk, the vibration loud in the silence of my dorm. I’d been staring at the ceiling for almost an hour, too wired to sleep, too angry to move. Another buzz. Then a third. I flipped the phone over. Ava. - Just saw your boy leaving Juliette’s room. Early. Like real early. - Another ding. - He was grinning. She looked like she hadn’t slept. You know what that means. - My jaw clenched so hard it ached. So it did happen. The smug bastard actually went through with it. And Juliette? She let him. My grip tightened around the phone, thumb hovering over the keyboard before I finally typed out a reply. - Stick to the plan, Ava. - The three little dots danced as she typed back.
