“So you travelled into the forbidden zone seeking help?” asked Jenna.
“Yes,” replied Clarissa. “The gods sometimes help those in need. As you have.”
“I’m really not a god. I came through the Tagrale…”
Clarissa shrieked, completely cutting across what Jenna was saying.
“Don’t name the evil one,” hissed Clarissa. “Doing so could summon the demons! Even you, a goddess, would be vulnerable!”
“Demons? What demons?”
“The demons who serve… the evil one. The demons who once forced their way through the Eye of the Gods. They ravaged and destroyed everything near the Eye. Nothing could stand before them. Nothing could harm them. Not until the Gods and Goddesses came to our rescue. They appeared, just a handful yet so powerful, and they destroyed the demons in a mighty battle.
