The solution, when she found it, came from the room after all. Well, not from the empty room but from where it was located and the details of the conduits and wiring behind its back wall.
If she was reading the plans correctly then she could get into a short access conduit there, one that ran a few metres further and then offered a chance to get into the kitchen area… which crucially was on a totally different corridor and so would keep her away from the robot.
The conduit continued past that point but it didn’t look like she’d be able to get any further through it. Thick bundles of wiring filled most of the space. She was just lucky one set of wiring ended at the kitchen and the next started far enough on that there might be a space for her to make use of.
