“That’s great,” she smiled. “I’m glad he didn’t have to be disturbed in the middle of the night. I would have felt really awful. I feel bad enough waking you up.”
“Meh, I was just kind of lying there,” he smiled at her. “I was thankful for the distraction.”
Ivy had to stop her mind from picturing Roman just lying in his bed, wild hair and shirtless.
“So, you had to work late?” Ivy asked.
“Yeah, my crew is on a deadline to finish the new shopping center on First Street.” He stifled a yawn.
“Oh, yeah, I saw that,” Ivy commented. “It’s looking great. I guess we’re both burning the midnight oil.”
