"So, a funny thing happened at work today," Mom said as she came around the corner into the kitchen later that day. I finished placing sliced tomatoes on our sandwiches and looked up. Sandwiches was the best I could do because I was exhausted and my head felt heavy with an inner pressure that made my eyes water.
