Staring at the invitation that was slid under my door, I lay on my bed with excitement. I’ve attended Barrington University for 3 years, and have never been invited to a Kings of Night party let alone the masquerade ball. I’ve had friends who’ve had the chance to go and they rave about them. They said it’s wild and full of mystery. However they can’t say what they did or any events that happened. Everyone who attends is sworn to secrecy, and has to sign a non disclosure agreement before they even go inside. Oh god, I could use some secrecy in my life. I’ve been working non stop to pay for college, and my classes take up most of my time. By the time I’m done with work and school, I’m too exhausted to do anything. My best friend Cecilia begs me to go out with her every night, but I just can’t keep my eyes open. Sighing I put the invitation on my bedside stand. Maybe I could go this once. Besides, is there a better way to spend your 21st birthday?
