THEA
Rosa showed me my seat after Rowan left for his office.
The desk was close enough for me to see his office door from where I sat, and honestly, that alone made me happy.
The whole department was busy. Fingers moved quickly across keyboards, phones rang once in a while, printers made noise, and wolves walked around carrying files from one office to another.
The scent of coffee filled the air softly.
I sat down carefully, smoothing my skirt a little before looking around at the people seated close to me.
Some smiled politely.
Some only stared for a second before returning to their work.
“You look beautiful.”
I turned immediately after hearing the voice.
A man sitting across from me was smiling openly at me. “Are you the Moon Goddess’ daughter or something?”
I laughed softly. “No, I’m not.” Then I tilted my head playfully. “Maybe I’m secretly related to her without knowing.”
He chuckled immediately. “Well then, I’d like to be friends with this goddess.”
He stood up and stretched his hand toward me.
I took it while standing up too.
“My name is Omar,” he said. “I work as a recruitment officer here in HR.”
I smiled warmly. “I’m Thea. I just started as an intern.”
“Thea,” he repeated slowly like he liked the sound of it already. “Pretty name.”
I sat down again and he did too.
“Can I call you Tea?”
Immediately, I noticed some eyes moving toward us. It was obvious Omar was flirting with me and honestly, he was the first person here who spoke to me so freely.
The men sitting close to me kept sneaking glances at me but looked too nervous to actually say anything.
I looked back at Omar properly this time. He was handsome in a playful kind of way. His hair looked messy but funny, like he touched it too much.
But he wasn’t my type, not even close compared to Rowan but still... Maybe he could help me make Rowan jealous a little.
The thought alone made me smile. “Yes,” I said softly. “You can call me Tea.”
Then I leaned forward a little teasingly. “I can even be your tea.”
Omar laughed immediately.
But beside him, someone suddenly grunted loudly. “This is a workplace,” a woman’s voice said sharply. “Not somewhere for cheap flirting.”
I turned toward her.
The lady looked annoyed already even though I had barely spoken.
She was pretty, serious-looking, and currently glaring straight at me.
Omar sighed dramatically. “Leave my Tea alone,” he said. “She can talk anyhow she wants.”
The lady shot him a deadly glare. “I’m not talking to you, Omar.”
“But you’re being rude to her because I talked to her.” He leaned back lazily in his chair. “If you have a problem with me, face me directly.”
She rolled her eyes hard before turning back to her computer. “I just want silence,” she muttered. “Some people are trying to work.”
Omar looked at me apologetically. “Don’t mind Rita. She naturally wakes up angry every morning.”
I smiled because honestly... That seemed true.
Suddenly, Omar groaned painfully. “Rita!” he snapped.
I blinked in surprise.
She had probably hit his thigh under the table because I couldn’t see anything beyond the desk.
“Behave yourself,” she warned coldly.
Omar rubbed his thigh before looking at me again. “I should probably work before she kills me.”
I laughed softly.
“You can call me if you need anything, Tea.”
I nodded. “Thank you. I will.”
Then I finally looked at the computer in front of me properly.
Rosa had already taught me some basic things earlier, so I tried practicing them carefully by myself.
Still... My mind kept drifting.
I wasn’t here just because I needed work. I was here because of Rowan too.
That rugged, difficult man had somehow entered my head completely and now he refused to leave.
Hours passed slowly.
At some point, my legs started hurting badly from the heels I wore. I shifted slightly in my seat before stretching one leg under the table.
Moon... It had been so long since I wore heels for this many hours.
When I finally stood up carefully to stretch properly, something slid onto my table.
I looked down, and it was a pack of sweets.
I blinked before turning toward the man sitting beside me who passed it. He wasn’t even looking at me. His eyes stayed on his computer screen as nothing happened.
Still, I smiled softly. “Thank you.”
He only nodded once quietly without speaking.
I looked around the table.
Most of the men around me kept acting strangely shy.
The moment I looked at them, they quickly focused on their work again. It was honestly funny. At least none of them were rude, that was enough for me.
I looked toward Omar again.
This time, even he was serious while typing on his computer.
The playful flirting from earlier was gone.
Then suddenly, I heard heels clicking toward us.
Before I could turn properly, a soft hand landed on my shoulder. “Well done, dear.”
I looked up immediately and smiled after seeing Rosa. “Are you done with what I taught you?”
“Yes,” I answered quickly. “Thank you for teaching me.”
She smiled proudly before removing her hand from my shoulder. “Well, I won’t be the only one teaching you.”
My heart reacted immediately.
“Boss will mentor you too when the time comes,” she continued calmly. “But for now, keep practicing first before we assign you a proper role.”
I nodded seriously. “Yes, Rosa.”
She greeted everyone at the table warmly and they answered her respectfully.
I noticed something quickly.
People genuinely liked her.
As she walked away, she stopped near a young woman arranging some documents. “Take coffee to the boss as usual,” Rosa instructed.
The lady nodded immediately.
The moment I heard that, my eyes narrowed slightly.
Coffee for Rowan?
Without even thinking properly, I walked toward her. “Hi,” I said softly.
She looked up at me.
“How about I help you take the coffee to him?”
She blinked at me like she didn’t expect that.“You want to take it to Alpha Rowan?”
I nodded innocently.
Her entire face changed instantly. “Oh Moon, thank you!”
She grabbed my hands happily before quickly letting go again.
The relief on her face confused me.
“I’ll prepare it exactly the way he likes it,” she said quickly while rushing toward the coffee machine.
I stared after her.
Why did she look so relieved?
Was giving Rowan coffee that stressful?
Minutes later, the coffee was ready. She carefully handed me the tray.
“Good luck,” she whispered strangely.
I almost laughed.
“It’s just coffee.”
She looked at me like I didn’t understand something.
I carried the tray carefully and started walking toward Rowan’s office.
My heels clicked softly against the shiny floor.
Some workers looked up as I passed, then suddenly, I heard Rita’s voice behind me.
“She’s doing too much already,” she muttered loudly enough for me to hear. “Just because she knows the boss.”
I slowed slightly. “She’s too full of herself.”
I knew she was talking about me but instead of getting upset... I smiled because strangely enough?
Ever since Rowan entered my life, something inside me had changed.
Before, I used to shrink myself quietly, and now?
I wanted things.
I wanted him.
And somehow, being around him was slowly making me bolder without him even trying.
I reached his office door and knocked gently.
“Come in.” His deep voice passed through the door immediately.
My stomach flipped.
I pushed the door open and entered slowly.
Rowan was seated behind his large desk, reading through some documents.
The office smelled exactly like him.... Wood, spice, and that dangerous wolf scent that always made my chest feel warm.
The moment he looked up and saw me, a surprise flashed across his face briefly.
I walked toward him slowly before placing the coffee on his desk.
“Here’s your coffee, boss,” I said softly, maybe a little too softly.
His eyes stayed on me, heavy and dangerous.
I slowly stepped back and then suddenly... He moved so fast that I barely saw it happen.
One second he was behind his desk.
The next second, my back was pressed against the nearest wall.
I gasped softly.
Rowan’s large body trapped mine completely. His hand rested beside my head while the other stayed firmly around my waist.
My breathing instantly became uneven.
“I finally have you under my fingers,” he muttered darkly. His breath brushed my face.
My heart started beating faster immediately.
He leaned forward, “Little cunning T.”
