THEA
Rowan truly meant it when he talked about me working at the company.
Even now, sitting in my room while trying to dress up, it still doesn’t feel real. I was going to work at Nightshade Company… the biggest company in the Silver Moon Pack. Rowan’s company.
My stomach kept twisting every time I thought about it.
I knew the only reason I got the job was because of Liana. If I weren’t her friend, nobody would even look at an omega like me twice.
Jobs were hard to get in the city unless you had a name, power, or blood that mattered.
Still… I was grateful.
Being friends with Liana has always brought something good into my life.
“HR! HR!”
Liana’s voice rang through my room before the door flew open.
I laughed softly.
Neither she nor her father ever knocked before entering my room anymore.
Strangely… I didn’t mind it.
Because somewhere along the line, this place had started feeling less like a mansion and more like home.
Thankfully, I wasn’t naked.
Well… I was almost and I wouldn't mind if any of them walked in on me.
I pulled down the short black skirt hugging my thighs while adjusting the tight white top Liana had forced me to wear.
She had bought the outfit herself yesterday after refusing every decent piece of clothing I picked.
“You need to stop dressing like somebody’s aunt,” she had complained.
Now she stood at the door looking proud of herself.
She looked beautiful as always... Black trousers wrapped perfectly around her long legs while her pink shirt hugged her body neatly. Her black hair fell over her shoulders carelessly, like she didn’t even try.
Meanwhile, I had spent almost thirty minutes trying to make my long brown hair behave.
I smiled at her. “I’m not HR yet. I’m just the assistant, stop hyping me.”
She rolled her eyes dramatically and walked closer. “Assistant today. HR tomorrow.” Her gaze dragged over me before she grinned wickedly. “And moon goddess… You look sexy.”
My face warmed immediately. “Liana…”
“What? It’s true.” She pointed at me proudly. “And about the job... If you work hard, Daddy will definitely promote you.”
I nodded slowly, trying to behave as if I wasn't thinking about something else.
Though, she wasn’t wrong.
We both had to start from somewhere.
“I’m also starting as a social media intern,” she continued excitedly, spinning once. “Can you imagine me working?”
I laughed softly. “That’s actually shocking.”
She gasped loudly and threw a pillow at me.
I caught it while laughing harder.
“That’s rude!”
“You deserve it.”
She crossed her arms but the smile on her lips remained, then her eyes narrowed suddenly as she looked between our shirts.
“Wait…” she muttered. “Why does your white top look prettier than my pink one?”
I blinked. “Because pink looks better on me.”
Her mouth fell open.“Really?”
I nodded honestly because pink was my favorite color.
Her eyes lit up immediately. “That means we need to trade right now.”
Before I could even answer, she had already started pulling her pink shirt over her head.
I burst into laughter. “Liana!”
“What? Hurry up!”
Still laughing, I pulled mine off too.
A few seconds later, I stared down at the pink shirt now resting against my skin and my heart betrayed me immediately.
Pink... Rowan would definitely notice it.
The thought hit me so suddenly that guilt curled inside my chest.
What was wrong with me?
Liana had done so much for me. She trusted me, she cared for me, and loved me like a sister.
Meanwhile, I couldn’t stop thinking about her father. I couldn't stop thinking about how his length felt in my mouth... I hated how badly he affected me.
Last night had been torture.
Every time I closed my eyes, I saw him, his hands, his voice. The way his eyes stayed on me too long.
I had dreamed about him touching me softly, his fingers brushing my skin while he...
“Thea?”
I snapped back quickly.
Liana was staring at me strangely. “You disappeared for a second, what's wrong?”
I forced a smile. “Nothing.”
She shrugged before smoothing down the white shirt she now wore. “Pink is truly your color though. I’m keeping that in mind forever.”
I smiled softly before frowning a little. “Wait… you really didn’t know pink was my favorite color?”
She blinked innocently. “No?”
I stared at her. “All these years?”
She walked over quickly and hugged my arm. “I’m sorry. You know I’m terrible at remembering things and I don't have a favourite color.”
“That’s true,” I muttered.
She laughed.
Then something suddenly clicked inside my head.
“Wait… if you don’t remember, then why is my whole room pink?”
The smile on her face widened immediately. “Oh, that was Daddy’s idea.”
My breath caught.
“He chose it himself,” she continued casually while fixing her hair in the mirror. “I didn’t even notice until after everything was done. It was creepy honestly… like he somehow knew.”
My heartbeat started pounding so hard I could hear it.
It was him.
Rowan chose my favorite color.
How?
I swallowed carefully and forced out a small laugh. “Well… maybe alpha instincts.”
Liana nodded seriously. “Exactly! Alpha powers are scary.”
If only she knew what I truly meant.
We finally left the room together, talking and laughing softly like sisters.
The mansion hall downstairs was already busy with guards and workers moving around.
The moment they saw Liana, they bowed respectfully.
I noticed one particular guard staring at her for too long, not disrespectfully, more like admiration.
His eyes followed her quietly until she passed him completely.
But Liana didn’t even notice.
I looked away slowly.
A guard looking at the alpha’s daughter like that?
They were... impossible. 'Just like you looking at her father.' My wolf’s voice filled my head immediately.
I sighed internally.
'Stop thinking about him. We’re omegas. Men like Alpha Rowan destroy wolves like us without even trying.'
I frowned. 'He wouldn’t hurt us.'
Ria snorted. 'You sound very sure for someone who barely knows him.'
I ignored her.
But she wasn’t done.
'You just wanted that big thing under his trousers.'
I nearly choked.
“Are you alright?”
My body froze instantly at the deep voice... It was no other person than Rowan.
I blinked rapidly, realizing we had already reached the dining room without me noticing.
And there he was.
Sitting at the table in a dark suit that fits his body too perfectly.
His grey sharp eyes stayed on me immediately.
Goosebumps rose across my skin. The pink shirt suddenly felt too tight, too noticeable.
“I’m fine, Alpha,” I said quickly before sitting down close to him. “Thank you.”
Liana dropped into the seat on his other side dramatically. “I didn’t know our boss actually ate breakfast with workers.”
Rowan finally looked away from me and faced his daughter instead. “You both are leaving early,” he said calmly. “I’d rather you eat than collapse at work.”
Liana rolled her eyes but started eating immediately.
I reached for my food too but Rowan’s voice stopped me. “Are your clothes not too revealing for an office?”
Silence fell instantly.
Liana slowly lowered her spoon, as she had expected this.
I kept my eyes on my plate.
“You’re joking,” she muttered.
“I’m serious.”
She stood up immediately and walked toward him. “This,” she said, tugging at her trousers, “is trousers.”
Rowan stared at her blankly. “Obviously.”
“And this?” She pulled lightly at her shirt.
“A shirt.”
“Exactly.” She spread her arms proudly. “These are the perfect office clothes.”
A few maids nearby tried hiding their smiles.
Rowan leaned back in his chair, completely unimpressed. “It’s too tight.”
“It fits."
“It’s distracting.”
“Then tell the wolves to stop staring.”
I bit my lip hard to stop myself from laughing.
Liana crossed her arms stubbornly. “I’m not a child anymore.”
“I know.” Rowan’s voice turned colder suddenly. “Which is exactly why I’m warning you.”
The air shifted immediately, and even the guards nearby straightened.
“If some weak wolves start chasing you because of how you dress,” Rowan continued calmly, “don’t complain when I lock your wardrobe and replace everything with long gowns.”
Liana scoffed loudly and returned to her seat. “You’re dramatic.”
“And you’re stubborn.”
She ignored him completely and continued eating.
That was it for me.
A laugh escaped my mouth before I could stop it.
Rowan’s eyes moved to me instantly. Heat rushed into my cheeks. I covered my mouth quickly but it was too late.
“You support your friend too?” he asked quietly and continued, "What am I even asking? Your dressing is worse than hers."
The way he looked at me, saying that, made my heartbeat stumble again.
I opened my mouth but before I could answer, his chair scraped against the floor. “I’m done eating.”
Liana frowned immediately. “You barely ate.”
He ignored her completely. Instead, his eyes stayed on me one last second, too long, too heavy as if he should command me to go and change.
Then he spoke without looking away from me, “You both have ten minutes. If you’re late, find your own way to the company.”
And just like that, he walked out.
The entire room felt emptier after he left.
Liana groaned loudly. “Why does he act like a retired grandfather sometimes?”
I burst into laughter again.
“Eat fast,” she warned while shoving food into her mouth hurriedly. “Nightshade Company is huge. We’ll definitely get lost.”
I nodded quickly and started eating faster too.
A few minutes later, one of the guards stepped closer.
“It’s already ten minutes.”
I looked up immediately.
It was the same guard from before, the one who kept staring at Liana.
She jumped up so quickly her chair almost fell. “Moon goddess!"
She grabbed water quickly before wiping her mouth. “Thanks!” she told the guard casually.
The poor man looked like he forgot how to breathe.
I stood up too, unable to match Liana’s speed anyway.
Before I could even adjust my bag properly, she grabbed my wrist. “Hurry, Thea!” And together, we rushed outside toward Rowan waiting for us.
