Chapter 11: When the Alpha Stopped Running

1680 Words
THEA "Kiss me," I repeated, my voice tight. He wasn't moving, he wasn't answering, he just stared at me with those guarded, heavy eyes. "We can't do this," he started again, that same tired excuse. My patience snapped. I shoved his chest, hard, and stepped back. The air between us felt thick, and suffocating. "What is it, Rowan? What exactly do you want? Don't touch me, don't kiss me, don't do this, don't do that... We can't do this... What exactly do you want to do then?" I didn't wait for his answer. I turned away, feeling the heat of his gaze on my neck. I adjusted my shirt, pulling the fabric taut, knowing exactly what I was doing as I turned back to face him. I saw his eyes drop, lingering right on the curve of my breasts. A bitter, reckless smile tugged at my lips. "Fine," I said, pitching my voice to be heard clearly. "You’ve made yourself crystal clear, Boss. I won't disturb your peace again. I’ll go find a man who actually knows what he wants. I’m sure it won’t take me long." I started to walk, my heels clicking sharply against the floor. But I didn't take three steps. His hand, large and rough, shot out and caught my arm. He pulled me back with enough force that I stumbled, but he caught me, his frame steadying me against him. "You aren't finding another man in my company," he growled, his voice dropping into that dark, possessive alpha tone. "And you are definitely not wearing this dress back home." Before I could even blink, his hand moved to the collar of my shirt. With one swift, decisive motion, he ripped it open. The sound of tearing fabric was loud, echoing off the office walls like a gunshot. I gasped, looking down in shock. My shirt was ruined, hanging off my shoulders, leaving me in just my pink lace bra. He didn't give me time to process it. He shoved me back against the wall, his body caging mine in. "I’ve never kissed anyone before," he confessed, his voice rough. "And I don't do this. I don't kiss but I'm going to do this with you. Moon help me, I’m not even sure if I’ll be any good at it." My heart hammered against my ribs. I stared up at him, stunned. Had he never kissed anyone? My mind raced, but then his mouth was on mine. His lips were hard, unpracticed. He moved slowly, almost awkwardly, like he was learning the geography of my mouth. He was clumsy, but he was mine. I let out a shaky moan. One of his hands slid to my waist, crushing me against his hard, solid heat, while his other hand moved to cup my breast. The sensation sent a jolt of electricity straight to my core. He seemed to be enjoying the rhythm, but it was too slow for me. I wanted more. I grabbed his shirt, bunching the fabric in my fists, and took control. I kissed him hungrily, biting his lower lip until he parted for me. I pushed my tongue inside, tasting him... caffeine and that deep, musky scent of pine and rain. He groaned, a raw, needy sound that vibrated through my own bones. His grip on my breast tightened, his thumb rubbing over the peak through the lace, and I gasped, arching my back, my fingers digging into his hair. I was kissing him with everything I had, pulling him in, showing him exactly what he had been missing. When we finally broke apart, we were both gasping for air. My legs felt like jelly, shaking uncontrollably, and I could feel the dampness between my thighs... the physical proof of how much he affected me. He pulled back, his eyes dark, heavy-lidded. "You’re a much worse girl than I thought, Little T." He didn't wait for an answer. He reached out and hooked his fingers into the clasp of my bra. With a flick, it gave way, and my breasts spilled out, bare and sensitive in the cool office air. I didn't try to hide them. I just stood there, burning with embarrassment and desire, watching him. He looked at them like he was starving. "I know you'll be this fuller," he murmured, his hands moving over me, his palms rough and calloused against my soft skin. He squeezed, his eyes locked on mine, watching my reactions. I let out a soft, shy chuckle. It was almost funny... the great, powerful Alpha of the Silver Moon pack, acting like a hungry pup over me. He leaned in, kissing my nose, my jaw, then trailing down to my chest. When his mouth finally closed over my n****e, sucking hard and fast, I lost all sense of where I was. My thighs trembled, my knees buckled, and I let out a cry that surely would have been heard if his office wasn't reinforced for privacy. Then, suddenly, he stopped. He pulled away, his senses sharpening. He looked toward the door, his eyes wide. "What happened?" I whispered, my voice trembling. He didn't answer. He moved with a blur of wolf-speed, darting to the door and throwing the lock. He turned back to me, his face grim. "She's coming. She's right outside." "Who?" "My daughter." As if on cue, a sharp knock rattled the wood. Liana. I could smell her scent... My eyes went wide. I clutched my hands over my chest, frantic. "What do we do, Rowan? She can't see me like this! You ruined my dress!" I hissed. He didn't panic. He scooped up my torn cloth and bra, shoved them into my arms, and dragged me toward a heavy wooden door tucked beside a floor-to-ceiling office shelf. He shoved me inside a small, dim room. "Stay there," he ordered, his voice cold and commanding. "Don't come out. Don't make a sound." "Drink your coffee," I whispered back so she wouldn't suspect anything, my voice barely audible as he stepped out and shut the door, turning the lock. I was trapped in the room which looked like a relaxing room, clutching my shredded top. I couldn't see him, but I could hear his footsteps. My heart was pounding so hard I thought it might burst. I was an omega... I wasn't built for this kind of high-stakes, adrenaline-fueled trouble. I was supposed to be quiet, submissive, and invisible. But here I was, shivering in a room, naked, craving the father of my best friend. Through the thin wood, I heard Liana’s voice. Oh, Moon. I closed my eyes, feeling a wave of shame wash over me. Why couldn't I just walk away from Rowan? Why did he have to be so intoxicating? Even Noah, my ex-mate, hadn't made me feel this much alive. With Rowan, it felt like I was standing in the path of a wildfire... I knew it would burn me, but I didn't want to leave. I leaned my head against the door, my body still aching for him. Then, I shifted, and my shoulder hit the wood with a loud thud. The conversation in the office stopped dead. "What was that?" Liana’s voice sounded suspicious, right on the other side of the door. "It’s nothing, Princess," Rowan’s voice was smooth, deadly calm. "And moreover, you need to leave. This is a place of business, not a place for you to hang around because you're bored," he said changing the topic quickly. "You don't get it, Dad! The department is so boring. They treat me like a porcelain doll. I can't even play with anyone there!" "What did you expect?" Rowan retorted. "You're the heir to the Silver Moon pack. Of course, they treat you with respect." "I know, I know but I miss Thea! I don't know anyone else here. Where did you even send her? She doesn't know her way around!" I bit my lip, my heart aching. Liana was loyal, so kind while I was hiding in a closet, nursing the bite marks on my chest, knowing exactly what I was doing to her father. I heard the scrape of a chair. "She is not a child, Liana. She’s an adult. You don't need to monitor her every move." "She’s an omega, Dad! You know how easily they get bullied. Her family trusted me to look after her." Her voice was thick with frustration. I leaned closer, listening intently. It hurt to hear how much she cared, but it also made me love her more. She wasn't just my friend; she was the sister I never had. "No one will dare bully her under my protection," Rowan said, his voice dropping an octave. "And once they realize she is your friend, she will be an exception. Go back to work. You can come back when we close up, and you can take her home." I heard her groan, that long, drawn-out sound of a teenager being told 'no.' "You started today and you're already driving me crazy," Rowan threatened. "Maybe I should transfer you to my company in the Blue Moon pack. That way, you'll be too busy to come here and bother me." "No, no, no! Okay, okay!" Liana panicked, laughing. "I'm sorry I disturbed you! I'm leaving!" "That's my girl," Rowan said, the tension in his voice vanishing. "Go on. Make something of yourself." The door opened and closed. Silence returned to the office. I stood there, holding my breath, my skin prickling. A moment later, the closet door clicked open. I didn't even have time to react before I was pulled against a hard, broad chest. I smelled cedar and skin. "Hello, Little T," he whispered, his breath hot against my neck. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me into the safety of his warmth. "Your friend almost squeeze the life out of me but thank moon, you're stuck with me until I close. You're mine for the rest of the day." My breath hitched. "I... I have to stay like this? Until we close?"
