Guess what sis," Victoria said to Brittany bringing her thoughts.
"What" Brittany asked eager to know the cause of her sister's mood upliftment.
Vicky waited for some minutes to keep her sister in suspense, and she realized that her sister couldn't take it anymore she let the cat out of the bag "Dad says I can be with Mark now" she said grinning wildly.
Brittany was shocked for a few moments and when she recovered herself, she let out a scream "Yes!!!!!! I'm so happy for you sis, You should call Mark immediately".
"I was about to call him but I decided to let you know first, " Victoria said getting off the bed.
She headed for the door when Brittany suddenly asked her a question which made her halt.
"What if Mark doesn't want to get married now, what happens then sis ?"
Victoria felt her body go stiff from the question. She had always envisioned herself and Mark as a married couple with maybe two to three kids, but she had never for once thought if Mark wanted to marry her or just remain a dating couple. They had after all dated for 7 years already.
She heaved a sigh and with her back to Brittany, she said "I guess there's only one way to find out" Then hurriedly exited the room.

Vicky had never been to Mark's house before because he wouldn't let her but she knew the exact location since Bradley her guard had once told her.
Vicky got there in half an hour since there wasn't much traffic. She recognized the building since it was the only orange one in that area.
Vicky called Bradley when she couldn't remember the house number and he told her that it was block 191 which was on the left-hand side of the building.
When she got to the door of the house number, she took in a deep breath, paced herself then knocked. It wasn't up to a minute before she heard someone ask who was knocking. She furrowed her brows when she realized that it was a female voice since Mark told her that he lived alone and his family was not living in the city.
Victoria was still wondering if it was the wrong door when a pregnant lady opened the door and asked who she was looking for. She found the girl oddly familiar and thought to herself that it was the wrong door but she still decided to ask the lady if she knew Mark and if she could help her locate his apartment.
"Good afternoon, I am looking for Mark Harper and someone told me he lived here"?
" Victoria Green?" the lady asked with her eyes wide in surprise.
Victoria lifted an eyebrow in surprise and thought to herself that it was either she and the lady knew each other before or that Mark told her. Because she wasn't the social type. She would only go to clubs or parties if Mark asked her to.
She recollected herself and answered, "Yes and you are?"
"I am Anna from City A High School, We were classmates in grade eight" the lady replied.
Victoria simply made an "Oh" sound getting impatient since she was only here to see Mark.
Anna kept quiet for a bit before saying " Mark is inside, Should I call him out, or would you like to come inside?"
What she said caught Victoria off guard as she wondered why Mark would be at her place. She pondered for a bit then told her to call him out.
Anna went inside the house and after a minute, she reemerged with Mark who looked like he had just woken up from sleep.
He was shocked when he saw Victoria at the door. Anna had only told him that someone was looking for him at the door and that it seemed urgent.
Victoria looked at Mark and then at Anna before she turned to Mark and asked him if they could go aside and discuss.
Mark looked at Anna when he heard Victoria's request as if seeking approval and refused when he saw her nod in disapproval.
Victoria felt a pang of pain when she saw the silent discussion between them and felt even worse when Mark refused her request. She felt her heart squeezing and a thousand thoughts rushed into her head all at once.
She had an ominous feeling about all this but she decided to discard the thoughts. so she went forward not minding that they had company, she held Mark's hand "Dad has agreed to let us be together" she told him with a smile brimming on her face. Without waiting for a reaction, she continued"He says you should come to see him this week so you both can discuss marriage plans". she concluded.
Victoria was so happy while she was speaking that she didn't catch the different expressions on Mark's face nor did she notice that Anna swayed and held the door to hold herself steady.
Mark was so shocked when he heard what Victoria said but he quickly snapped out when he saw Anna swaying. He withdrew his hand from Victoria's and rushed over to hold Anna and keep her from falling.
He took in a deep breath and then looked at Victoria with shame and sympathy before saying in a low and barely audible voice.
"Vicky! I can't marry you"
At first, Victoria was shocked but when she thought about it again, She guessed that he was still afraid of her father since he had always loathed him. But she knew that her Dad was a man of his word and since he said himself that he was going to let them be together, he would stick to his words.
"I know you are still wary of my dad, it's only normal that you should be but I assure you, Mark! he is serious about this. Although he did say that you are to come this week or he's marrying me off". Victoria said to assuage him.
" What's wrong Mark, you don't look happy," Victoria said when she realized that Mark hadn't said a word.
