Steve returned to the company and called in a lawyer to carry out the property transfer agreement attached to the divorce settlement. He intended to leave all his assets to Addison.
Though he knew Addison wouldn't care about any of this, it was the last thing he could do for her.
He no longer hoped for her forgiveness. He only wished that she wouldn't hate him so much.
The lawyer was astonished, unable to believe Steve would leave everything to his ex-wife, and hesitantly said, "Mr. Roberts, I have a way to invalidate this property transfer agreement. As long as..."
Steve cut him off in a low voice.
"No. The agreement takes effect today. I'm doing this willingly."
